Having finished all of the championships i had 6million, the yacht is 7million so i decided i would clear (give up) the first hawaii championship and redo it (2.5million), did all the races and recieved no reward.

Quite worrying, up to and including the point at which you complete the final championship you will earn a lot of money, money comes plentiful with races and you're able to buy what you want, but when you complete all the championships you can no longer recieve championship prizes (unless i have missed something completely here).

So that leaves you with only small prize money from single races, the money you aquire from the 100 challenges in game (which again is very small and limited by progression) and the money you aquire from the FRIM system, which is tiny.

So how do you make money after you have completed the championships? Community events only award money to the winner and you have to pay to enter, and casino is casino, gambling is no sure way of making money.

Is it just me or does it seem stupid to go from earning a substancial ammount of money for your efforts, where a million just seems a few races away, to the point where you cant see how you're going to ever earn that money without spending a no-lifer ammount of time on the game?

This question has been asked a few times on the TDU2 forums as well, and quite frankly, I'd like to have it answered too. I hope the answer is not 'grinding'. ;) It will be a while before I complete the whole single player bit though.

It would be a shame as i would likely stop playing it and move along, you lose the momentum of the game and it becomes an unecessary chore, instead of fun. Currently my money stands at 4.7million, with no way of really increasing it other than by tiny ammounts, i can't be bothered for another grinding game.

Edit : If you focus on the events you will finish them very quickly, they are only a small part of the game, but provide the main bulk of your income.

Well, i'm sure seasonal events will be out soon

In all seriousness though, i'm pretty sure more races (and license tests & cars) will be released soon enough

How do i know? Well, some of the car dealers are pretty empty or have vacant spots, some classes (like dirt and classic) only have buyable cars up to C3 (or B3) but the junk cars go up to only C2 (or B2) meaning there's a a class or two missing etc. etc.
Plus the class races that come with them also.

There's also the casino

No millionair round the island race like the first game? Complete lap of Hawai using the coast road with a 2 hour limit on the time trial......that was the big money spinner in TDU1.....I would think it's in there somewhere it was the most famous race of TDU1. If it's not in then no doubt it will apear as an update as it sounds like there's been an oversight. Eden can't sell DLC in the future which needs to be bought with in game credits if no one can actual; earn those points.

The money maker in TDU1 was a speed challenge which awarded 70K for 20 seconds :)

The last race of the Solar Crown championship is a race around the whole of Hawaii in A1 cars, takes around 45-50 ish minutes depending on your car/traffic/weather (the target time is 57minutes). Prize for that championship is 5 million, but the race itself gives 20,000. As far as i can see you can get the 20,000 as many times as you want, but the 5 million is only a one off.

Consider that the normal championship gives $5,160,000 in total from 8 races, to do it again you would need to do 258 races to earn that same ammount of money.

We need an oval track in TDU2. 💡

Theres an offroad oval (ish, no banks) track next to my house, there is also a race that while isnt a banked speedway, is kinda like an oval.... don't expect NASCAR though ^^.

We need more single player events, or repeatable championships, so we dont all get bored when we run out of ways to make decent money... ^^

There was grinding in the first game, but the races you ground gave out 117,000 or so. You could even do the island race to get a million. But, I remember a few speed challenges that forked out a lot. There was one that gave out 117k and was pretty easy to do with the Saleen.

Sorry but are you sure about this? Last night I did the A7 championships (still in the first stages of this game) and after I did the second (all wins) and got the prize money I noticed an option to "Give Up Championship" or something like this. I found it odd because I can't give up something I already completed, but I clicked that option. And all my results vanished (the llitle ticked boxes became empty). Not the money I alreeady had though.

SInce it was too late I didn't try to do the championship again to see if I would get the prize money for a second time but if logic applies, I should indeed get it. Will try tonight.

Sorry but are you sure about this?
Yes, after getting the championship reward, you can 'give up' and do the championshop again, but you will not get the championship reward, only individual race rewards.

Well that's even worst then GT5. They really need to fix this up (if they can) otherwise people like me will get mad. :grumpy:

Thats just stupid and I hope it gets fixed

A lot of the hardcore TDU players think its fine to just grind up the money.

People mentioned that its easy to make money by using the casino (optional extra that costs money, and is gambling so no guarentees),

The community racing centre also mentioned, which is mostly consisting of races with hackers, races setup specifically to trick the people who compete, and straight line races where only the veyrons can compete, or a combination oh and you have to pay to enter community races, chance of you winning is so small, compare it to having to top the leaderboards in GT5 in order to win money, only the winner takes the cash.

Another thing was stake races, where you challenge other drivers by gambling up to 50,000... again gambling with cheaters and the skill of other drivers, not to mention the random traffic that can end the race of the most skilled player.

Other option is to repeat races, the final championship races can be done for 20,000 at a time, though you will get no championship prize, you can do 258 races for the same money as doing 8 races the first time.

So your option is grinding or gambling with cheaters, unless they fix it.

what if you place 2nd in the championship win 2nd prize then 'give up' and go for first? do you still get screwed for the cash?

You only win the championship prize if you win a championship, so if you come second or give up, before winning the championship prize then it would still be available for you to win.

The only issue lies with when you have completed the game and your money has no real way to increase at anywhere near the same rate that it did before you finished. Each championship prize can only be won once. Also the Casino car prize can only be won once, you can win it twice, but you will only recieve the car on the first time.

This is insane! And ive started trying to property ladder my way to a yacht... i have an esprit, a brera and an Imprezza. I have two grand and a huuuge house on Ibiza. And the shed on oahu. This does not look likely to end well... and i cant believe they missed the million credit single race round oahu. Its all i do on the psp version anymore. In class c cars. XD

If you own casino there is a way to gamble without risk, simply backup your save file and if you lose then replace it with the backup, hence you get your money back. But even doing this is no way to make decent fast money, as its just as easy to lose money as it is to win. Coupled with the extremely buggy casino (that sometimes takes money from you even when you should have won, i've had it happen about 4-5 times) there is still no way to make real money while enjoying the game.

Though you do earn a decent ammount of money while you still have championships left, just no way to make the same kind of money after it.

There's where I have been making a **** load of money. :D

Has been running around the twisty bits of Hawaii in my caterham, challenging unsuspecting Zondas and Bugattis, almost garunteed win with some careful driving.
