They should have Mclaren(road versions) too.Or maybe just all of them. They managed to fit 50 skylines didn't they?;)

That sort of 'collect them all' thing would be a fun addition for ultra low-volume cars. When you buy one, you get a random VIN (of that spec), and they dissapear from the showroom when you have them all.
By extension, you'd only be able to get one of most concept cars though.

Pretty much impossible to get them all.

Possily get the GTRs and F1. Probably extremely hard to get the LM. But to get them all is impossible.
Only 2 of the other F1 models are around.

Wouldn't the GT be harder to get then the LM?
For general intrest, here's the production figures I found:
Production run: 1994-1998
Total: 100
Road cars: 72
-normal F1: 64
-F1 LM: 5
-F1 GT: 3
Race cars:
-F1 GTR '95: 9
-F1 GTR '96: 9
-F1 GTR '97: 10

Assuming each generation of race car is significantly different, that's 6 versions to code in. Not an outragous expectation, given the car we're talking about, but the difficulty of finding cars for sampling is the issue.

Yes, but there's actually 2 F1 GTs. 1 was a crash test like 3 of the F1s.
So, you can imagine how extremely hard it'd be to get just 1 of these.

Oh, when it comes to Ferrari, you already know I want to see the Ferrari 333SP. I loved the sweet sound of the engine (not the Judd engine some teams used), plus it was the precursor to one of the baddest Ferraris of the modern era, the Ferrari F50. Let's not forget all the Ferraris that made it to the Le Mans endurance as well as the Formula One racing machines. If Ferraris were in the game, I would want to have Ferrari Challenge race cars, especially with the 360 Modena. People talk about sex on wheels, the 360 Modena is my alluring beast. The racing versions are really sweet. Everything from Ferrari Challenge, to the 360 Modena GT, even the Dentaire Project racing team in Super GT. I'd even include the JMB Giesse and Ferrari of Washington 360 Modenas. Ferrari of Washington? Hell. Ferrari of Houston, baby! I'd really want Risi Competizione represented in terms of actual racing teams in a game like the next GT.

Porsche Rennsport or Porsche Cup is a great idea for Porsche. The 1998 Le Mans winning Porsche 911 GT1 would be a nice addition as well. The GT racing Porsche 911 RSRs would make great entry-level race cars that can easily be taken into bigtime GT competition.

My grid would be :
1. Ferrari Scagliti
2. 911 Turbo
3. CL 55
4. M6
5. DB9
6. Lambo Murcilago
7. Viper
8. Z06

The Donkervoort DRS370 is the current fastest production car at the ring, the Radical was the fastest but the DRS beat it by 0.1 second, the Carrera GT is also faster and the Koenigsegg CCR ran faster and that only did 2 or 3 laps. Theres also the Mosler MT900 Photon that was quicker and the Mercedes McLaren SLR and probably a few more I can't think of right now. Motor trend it seems are very incorrect in this matter and you don't have to look hard to find out theres more than one production car that was faster. The Z06 was fast, don't get me wrong I wouldn't knock that car, but it's still nearly 24 seconds behind the DRS and almost 15 seconds behind the CGT, the CCR is expected to run the Ring in under 7'30 and in it's first handful of laps it did a 7'39.
Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking the Z06, it's a good car but it's not in the elite segment with the likes of the CCR, Enzo, Speed 12 ect. Motor trend it seems didn't do their homework, in fact I'd say they said that deliberately because it's an American car. Any motor journo should know the Radical held the Ring record and the Carrera GT ran a storming lap at the very least.

The dutch car RULES!!!!! *proud of my little ****ty country with 3 brands of cars, DAF, SPYKER, DONKERVOORT:p

Edit: BTW I love this car talk, you name thousands of them, say wich one is good with your HUGE knowledge about cars, and I just look them up in google images:p

The Zonda would win, the F40 can't keep up with todays top supercars. Since it's GT though you could always match the grid by tuning cars that wouldn't normally compete, like say give the Sagaris an extra 150Bhp, now THAT woul be fast, or just use the Typhon stock.
This is the ~350hp C12, not the C12S.

The C12 has 450Bhp, and is faster than an F40, the C12S has 550Bhp. The F40 has 450Bhp too but it's not far off 15 years old, it's still impressive but the Zonda would go faster round a track.

Ofcourse you could always just give any faster cars ballast to slow them down.

IMO one of the best things about GT is haveing friends over and asking them what is your favorite car (truck, suv, what ever) and letting them drive it with the most realistic interface, graphics, and physics. I get new booty like this all the time :)

but what about me? I love Ferrari, always have, always will. It started when I was a sacker at Randals in Friendswood Texas, when a rich latino guy let me turn the key and rev his 355.
(single tear rolls down my cheek) The sega game 355 challenge is wonderful and all and is just a little more difficult than GT4 but it isn't GT and it only has one car. I know haveing Ferraris won't sell more GT games but it would at least let people know where it is, and if PD could reproduce the feel of a Ferrari like they have in every other auto in the game people would understand what Ferrari is all about and what makes them special.

The same goes for Porsche and Lamborghini.

I will never have a 250 car garage in real life, That is why I need GT, and that is why I need my favorite company in GT.

also, I know I'm a fan boy or what ever, but I'm proud and I'll say it out loud! and if ya'll don't understand it's ya'll's loss...

Actually, if Ferrari was the only new company in GT5 (speaking in terms of "if"), it probably would boost the sells.

Oh well, Ferrari better try to get themselves in there or else kids will be buying the new NSX(if that ever happens) over Ferrari

Why is it that everyone mentions Ferrari, Porsche and lamborghini yet they always forget Maserati?

Youd think that the next GT has a better chance at getting the trident now that production has been shifted from Ferrari to Fiat Auto. Though they still have ties with Ferrari, Its a better opportunity considering the other Fiat Auto brands (Alfa, Lancia, Fiat are in the game). The discouraging thing is that Bugatti and Lamborghini still arent in the game even though they are Volkwagen AG. Does VW or Audi want more money for these brands to be in the game or is it Lambo themselves who are holding out?

And You cant forget the forgotten brands, Ascari, Donkervoort, Vemac, Dauer, Koenigsegg, Laraki, Leblanc, Lotec, Mega, Noble, Detomaso/Qvale, Saab, Stealth, SSC, Ultima, Ariel and venturi.

At the end of the day each marquee needs it's own set of licenses with it's own set of t&C's and it's own cost. PD can't afford EVERYONE, they filter who they have the highest chance of getting then go for as many of thoes as they can while trying to tie up other harder to get licenses as well. Once the budgets gone if thoes hard to get licenses havent agreed it's going to be no deal.

It also depends on the nature of the license agreements. Some manufacturers give out "blanket" licenses.. they pay one fee, and they can put in as many of that company's cars as they want. With other companies, they have to license each car individually. I think this is why some manufacturers have very limited selections compared to others.

Luckily, they can get away with only five Lamborghinis in my opinion (Muira, Countach, Diablo, Murcielago, Gallardo), but they'll need a blanket license for Ferrari.. there's just too many. I could probably rattle off a dozen cars off the top of my head.. 288, 308, F355, 360, F430, 550, 612, F40, F50, F60.. the list goes on and on and on.

Maserati.. that one they could do one-off licenses.. Maserati, while a big name, has a surprisingly small selection of GT-worthy cars. Most of them are just sedans. I'd be happy with a Bora and an MC12. Although even the MC12 is, as they described it on Top Gear, "A de-tuned Enzo in a fat-suit". It was made by Ferrari while Masterati belonged to them (for a short time). So I'd rather just have the Enzo. :)

I'm going to be honest with you. I'm not really a Maserati guy. I do like the Maserati MC12 raced in the ALMS by Houston-based Risi Competizione. I'm just not really a Maserati guy. Other than that, I'm more of Ferrari.

I'm not going to buy a Gran Turismo game only because of a certain car or car company in the game. That isn't me. Favorite cars will come and go, but to me, I always say that it's about the drive. I haven't been disappointed that there's no Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, Maserati, or whatever. I don't really care to see them because I know that I'm not going to enjoy such a game for such car companies. When I played the Forza Motorsport demo, I raced the Ferraris and the lone Porsche, but did I really want to play FM for just these autos? No. You see, people, the gaming experience is always more important than a certain car company in the game. Even if I had an XBOX, FM and filled my virtual garage with Ferraris, I still want a game to play and not gloat over a virtual Ferrari collection. When I played the demo of Project Gotham Racing 2, I didn't want to just race the Ferrari Dino with that PGR2 Time Trial in Florence, Italy. I wanted a gaming experience that I'll remember. As you know, I like Gran Turismo, but Project Gotham Racing 2 was actually quite fun.

I just don't want to see any overhyping of the next GT if it included Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, Maserati... hell, throw in Koenigsegg. I don't give a flying crap. People who read between the lines of Gran Turismo games know that it's all about the driving experience and the racing experience. If they were in the game, guess what? Official PlayStation Magazine, Electronic Gaming Monthly, GamePro, GameSpot, IGN[ore], all them jive turkeys are going to be like "Gran Turismo finally grows up- Ferrari at long last!" The same would go if damage is completely confirmed. The game would be overhyped in these areas. I mean, how are we supposed to believe the next GT will be the best ever if Ferrari or Porsche or damage is mentioned? Let's read between the lines and not be so greedy or demanding over something like this.

Ferrari and other companies will not revolutionize the game, itll just make it a little bit better.

Are you serious? The 5000GT, Mistral and 3200GT arent 'GT worthy'? :boggled:
Even some of the sedans are GT worthy, like the current quattroporte which is one of the sportiest sedans in the world. If the M5 and E55 deserve, so does the quattroporte.

And thats not even mentioning the race cars like the Trofeo or MC12 GT1.

Hell, heres my GT5 car wishlist, alot of cars. Sorted from oldest to youngest in groups of road cars, then concepts and then race cars.

Your skimping a bit here arn't you? You're missing the Cerbera Speed 12, Speed 12, Cerbera Speed 6, Tuscan Challenge and many many more, theres complete model ranges not represented there...... I'm a TVR guy you see.

Gallardo is like the poor man's Lamborghini.. yeah it's still awesome but Diablos, Murcialago's, and Countaches are better.

Porsche is basically already in the game, it's RUF. And for Ferrari, I'd say only a select few, Testa Rossa, F430, only the good stuff. :dopey:

LOL Gallardo a poor mans Lamborghini  Can you afford one? I know i cant so what does that make us? If poor people can buy lambos then i think im going to move outside into the gutter where it would seem i belong and Ruf are not basically porches, Ruf are based upon porches but still go through a development program and have many parts changes for, in RUF's opinion, better parts. Just because something looks the same doesnt mean it is!

Anyway im not here to try and belittle anyone, i think the addition of all these cars will only add to the greatness of the game but we will always want for more!!

I didnt include any cars from GT4, as they will probably be included given the amazing disc space for the PS3. If this was added to the gt4 list for GT5, Id be happy.

As for those TVRs, as you can see by my name, Im a TVR fan as well, but only recently (since 1998) so I dont know all the old TVRs. And there isnt alot on the internet about them (that I can find). Im also a Ferrari and Honda (NSX) fan so Im pretty happy with the list I made. I dont think no single person has ever made a wishlist this big.

I'm being intesely picky, don't worry. It's a very nice list, theres a bit of a joke around about me being stupidly biased towards TVR over pretty much anyother cars in existance, I play on that a bit from time to time.

Dude, I would have no trouble buying GT5 even if it had the same lineup as GT1 with just 10 manufacturers. As far as I'm concerned, any manufacturer who doesn't want its cars to be included in what is by far the best selling racing game in the world is losing out. GT5 will be a great racing game with or without them. In the meantime, I think I'd rather buy an Impreza than a Ferrari or Porsche.

Not many manufacturers turned PD down, I tink Saab have been the only one. Ferrari and Porsche and Lamborghin will all want to be in, it's a case of Sony wanting to pay for them or not. I'd rather a Feerrari or Porsche over an Impreza, I don't know any SANE person who wouldn't.

If u want a expensiv spanish car that goes at 300km/h stop playing gt and go buy yourself a copy of the NFSU2

GT is about racing your STOCK car not your "hey i´m a wannabe pimp that want fat fast cars but cant aford it"

you could spend 50.000 USD on just interior and exterior but it would still have a crappy engine..

u guys who want "tuning cars" go play nfsu2

GT is about racing the stock or racing car not a pimp ride
