What I'm wondering is whether or not this is possible. Or is there something that prevents this. The reason for asking is because I've never heard of this being done.

I know it would obviously require modifying the PS2.

First of all, it would require modding the PS2, which is the easy part.. The hard part would be disassembling the image extracted from the GT4 DVD, finding the exact places where the music is stored (cross your fingers it's in an easyli readable format) replacing the music that takes up the same space, more or less. The recalculating the MD5 values for the now altered DVD image, alter the values in the image, burning it back on to a DVD, then fingers crossed the PS2 will accept it..

Good luck !..

And if you really want the music and engine noise coming from the same speakers instead of two different places in the room, one option would be to run the PS2's audio through your computer and then run WinAmp or whatever at the same time.

Well, my ps2 and dvd player are both connected to my amp, with each playing on different settings. By using one lead from each, you can have both mp3's and gt4 sound playing at the same time, just make sure both are set for mono.

BTW, my amp is a 20year old TEAC amp with 12" subs. At 300km/h+, when the wind starts to howl, my roof starts to rattle 👍

I just use my mp3 player and headphones on a low volume... surround sound w/ subwoofer on a high volume. Works for me, but not for the wife. :sly:
