Hi Guys

Ive been a complete addict to GT since the 4th Edition.

Ive had GT5 since it came out and its the only game i play, but online all i can find is stupid ppl who keep knocking you off track so i knida gave up...until i fount GTP :)

Basically ive built up a lovely selection of cars, lap times and all sorts or spec's and tunes of each version...
what i wanted to know is:

My current ID is "WAXIMISE"
and i take it to be eligible to complete in GTP events id need to be:
"GTP_WAXIMISE"

Question is....will i lose all my cars, tunes and lap times if i do so????

and how do i change the PSN ID
 
Gran Turismo savefile is attached to your PSN ID, so yes you have to restart when you want a new PSN ID.

edit: lol some guys were faster ;)
 
Make a new account and send your fast cars with their tunes on them there? Idea?..
 
You cannot change your ID once you create one of your own, if you'd like to have it altered, you got to make another one of your desired ID at the cost of your previous account.
 
but is it 100% necessary to have GTP ID to enter into GTP races...
I have just got Level 33 A-Spec and Level-21 B spec...so really dont wanna start from scratch and je lugged with 2 accounts

Only the WRS and OMRS I believe.

It isnt at the cost of your previous account, You can have several accounts on 1 PS3 without affecting each other.

With a bit of thought you can level up very easy, I went from 0 A-spec and B-spec to both at level 40 in 12 days. That was using the 200% bonus on seasonals and picking your way thru A-spec to get the required cars. 3 hours a day is all it took and 1 x 24hr race done in realtime, B-spec was left for friends to remote race. I understand not everyone can spare 3 hours a day but you dont need to get that high.
Use your current account to transfer cars and tickets you need.

I second what Mark said. When I made my GTP account I sent over a tuned up Ferrari so that I could run the seasonals to make some quick cash/exp, then continued to send what cars I could over each day (and the various tickets I had saved up). It took me all of a week to get back to the point that I was with the other account.
 
you can change your name....log in ..go back to your name and select it..push triangle and change your name.....
you can find this in the manual..so my advice is RTFM

Editing user information
Edit user information, such as user name and icon. Log in as the user whose information you want to edit. Select the icon of the user, press the (triangle) button, and then select [Information] from the options menu. Select the items that you want to edit.

Hints
Only information for the current user can be edited.
You can select an icon from images saved on the hard disk or from preset icons.
 
As said, you can't change your PSN ID however, if you like I can assign your old GT5 save to your new account no problem. If you want to do that, PM me.

I was going to post that it could be done with certain software that is commercially available, but I thought that was against the forum AUP...?
 
Well, the software is commercially available as you say from a reputable company so I don't see the problem. I can see a problem if it fiddled with one's PSN ID in some way, but it doesn't. If i'm wrong (and it does offend the AUP) then please, cut my heart out with a spoon. 👍
