I've been a fan of GT since GT1 and 2. Though it's been several years since I played playstation, I still was decent with most games. I'm using a stock PS5 Controller. I've been able to achieve my super license and I'm 4/39 with the menu books. I've made all this progress on the normal setting (which is default). Yet I'm stuck now and no matter what I've tried, I can't seem to progress. I even dropped $350k on the Ferrari 458 Italia GR4 (as some mentioned using it in YT videos) yet still no difference for the UK Brands Hatch GT Cup GR.4 5 lap race. I've come in 3rd on normal and easy. I believe I also got 3rd with the Supra GR.4.

I don't understand why this game sucks so much...? Like it shouldn't be this difficult to get to a point in the game where you can free drive and use whatever car and track you want to have fun. It appears to be missing arcade mode (or it's blocked) until you meet a certain standard... Yet I don't know why it's soo hard to complete the menu books. I mean I can't even mod any of the cars, yet when I tried looking for help on videos, all the people were talking about modding the car to gain the advantage to win.

Is there a way to reach out to GT7 to let them know that I have no noticeable differences on normal or easy. I haven't tried hard, but I guess that would confirm there's an all around error. I mean would think that as you go further in the game, then it would naturally become more challenging. Yet this game sucks right from the start.

I'm just voicing my frustration, as this game really does suck compared to the previous ones. And of course the graphics and sounds are amazing... yet if you can't enjoy the process, but rather be stuck not able to make progress, it's like a useless game. I looked for cheat codes and couldn't find any. It'd be nice to play the arcade mode right from the start vs being tied up in quests that are extremely challenging to get low level cars. I could understand more if it was for high level super cars, but dang I can't even finish the menu book to get all of the Japanese FF sports cars. And the races you have to complete (well at least on my screen are all with higher level cars, not with low level cars to win the FF series and complete the menu book) What sense does this make?

Possibly my account is jacked up, there is a glitch or the game is just screwed up. Any advice you could offer is welcomed....

I don't mean to offend any devout vans, I'm just spent with how they setup this game... It's missing the variables and levels to catch every level of gaming ability.

Did you even think about searching posts in this forum? All the rants you had just posted have been posted before.
Suggestion, come up with a name here that doesn't give others the idea that everything you post here will be negatively seen...

Third in a race is enough to progress - but more importantly Menu Book 4 has nothing to do with Gr.4 cars or Brands Hatch. It's the High Speed Ring Track Day Championship, which takes place at High Speed Ring.

You need to go back to doing menu books. The GT Cup Races are BOP and end game races, they are not meant to be done when you have completed 4 menu books. BOP races are not impacted by difficulty level, neither are missions. If you see chili peppers on races do those after you have done everything else in game. That is why you are hitting a wall so early.

@WhyGT7Sucks

Couple of things.

The race you are attempting is a 2 chilli pepper race. This means it has a fixed difficulty so changing the difficulty setting won't make any difference.

Finishing 3rd is always enough to progress the game, so not sure what your problem is there.

As already pointed out, menu book 4 has nothing to do with this race.

Lastly, I jumped in and did the race cold with a stock Ferrari 458 Italia Gr.4. Took the lead at the start of lap 3, won by 13.8 seconds and wasn't even driving well.

There's help here if you want it but perhaps change your attitude. And probably your edgy username.

Changing your username costs $3.99, so unfortunately I don't think that's a viable, feasible option. As the former, we will see...
Nope.

Users with less than 10 posts can also now change their usernames in their account settings. Many new users register with typos or mistakenly reveal personal information in their usernames, then need help or create multiple accounts in an effort to rectify the error.

Thanks for responding. I understand my user name could cause negative vibes and reproach.. yet look at the wonderful family here.. Most of y'all that responded were pleasant and helpful... And I greatly appreciate that. I'll likely either delete my account or change the username (says I have to wait til October 2025 though)... I made it in demonstration of my huge level of frustration... Please understand... LoL

As for the error...I figured it out! There was a glitch in the game... and rightly so for me to be frustrated/confused/aggravated thinking the game is so whack.... As the GT7 literally would not let me advance nor did it show me what to do. As I had won gold in all the required races. (I also had been up to date with recurring PS5 and GT7 updates - so unsure why there was a glitch).

Here's how I fixed the glitch of being stuck on Japanese FF cars (after acquiring the first one in the list on top)... I went back to the café and looked at the menu book. When I clicked on "hint" then some golden circle with a compass appeared. I noticed this after I left the café and went into Suzuka FF Challenge 450. The race and gold compass were missing beforehand. And the race that was being shown in that same spot before clicking the "hint" button, I had already won gold. Yet somehow that "magically" changed and the race I needed to complete was now available and visible... weird.

I completed the remaining 2 races to finish the Japanese FF menu book. Then I started the Hot Hatches, and it showed all 3 available races before competing in any of them. So after I completed the first race, I didn't need to go back to the café and click "hint" as it was already available and "visible" from the beginning of the Hot Hatch menu book series.

So I completed that one and now it opened up GT Auto and Scapes.

It appears for now the game "worked it self out"... LoL. Man, this is exciting... I was getting into the game and of course as you can imagine seeming strange to me that I couldn't go any farther... And being stuck having to race in super car races... Made no sense to go from slow cars to real fast ones and the only way to compete was to obtain the required licenses. (As I watched YT videos trying to figure out what to do next). As you can imagine, I had high hopes thinking having the req. licenses would sort it out... Man I didn't realize something was up... I play the game on and off (not a hard or consistent gamer). Yet I'm grateful for the support I received as that led me to going back to checking it out to see what happened.

Thanks for all who contributed, very helpful information especially about the difficulty setting and chili peppers... which still doesn't make sense that it's like that... I naturally would assume a global difficulty adjustment would affect all races.

It's the Start button that causes both the gold compass icon and the relevant races to appear. It's a relatively common thing among new players to not actually Start a menu book and get confused as to what the game requires.

You can complete Menu Books by either doing the races to win the cars or by owning the cars (often, but not always, by buying them from the Used Car Dealership). Owning the car (whether bought or won and acquired through My First Gran Turismo) will show an item as completed without doing the corresponding race.
