Right, I've got a new sound card, as the on-board is KO'd. I put it in one PCI slot during the week and the monitor wouldn't get a signal from the GFX card. I moved it to another slot and it worked. Yet, I've started it up today, and it's the same as before. I had to take the sound card out.

I'm pretty sure it's an IRQ problem. But how do I change it if I can't start the PC up with the sound card in it?

Change the graphics card to another channel?

Disable the onboard sound in BIOS if you haven't done so already before putting in the new sound card. Also, make sure the card is securely seated in the slot.

Yes, both are done. It's weird, I had taken the card out yesterday, put it back in this morning and it wasn't recognising it, though I hadn't connected it up to the speakers, it should still recognise the audio device, shouldn't it?

Anyway, need to test it more, not got the time this half of the week.
