Wow, I didn't think Rush would actually consult people with opinions other than the Christian Reich.

Then again, maybe his drug addiction has actually helped him.

Want to talk about changing times?

A young intern was cutting some paper on the paper cutter. I joked that the sound it made, along with the sound of the thermal paper fax machine cutter, always made me think "Lorena Bobbit"

He looked at me like I had three heads.

He's never seen a fax machine that used thermal paper on a roll, and didn't have the least clue who Lorena was.

Ouch.

it amazes me that like 95% of my friends dont know records work or what they even do...

how old are you guys? and how young are your friends. I'm 21 (this past saturday, wooohooo!) and i definately know who Lorena is. But i've never expeirenced Faxes with thermal paper. I remember watching the Bobbit thing on TV.

im 15...and my friends are 15 so we were born in 88...i also know about 8-tracs which none of my friends have even heard of...

and i know about thermal paper...my moms fax uses the rolls of themal paper...man that stuff sucks

and another thing...like all the music i listen to is like from the 70s...hendrix...zeppelin...the who...all the good **** and still, a majority of my friends dont know the big big bands from the 60s and 70s...like if your going to listen to rock, atleast know where it all started

wow.........Are you serious? I mean, yeah i guess you are. What state do you live in? vermont? man, that's depressing. Well, at least you know about these things. So do your friends think Crede invented Rock'N'Roll?

[edit]oh, your from Canada. well that makes it more understandable ;) [/edit]

Do you have music by Chuck Berry ? He invented rock'n roll. The album The Great 28 is awesome.

My son wanted to know what Atari was. So, I bought one of those Atari classic games for the PS 2, He said, "This is stupid!" He never played it again.

I know who Lorena Bobbit is. Don't think I could ever forget her. I haven't the slightest clue who the guys in the photo are, however. Oh well.

I thought it was Loretta Bobbit, not Lorena?

Damn, I'm getting old.

That's a damn shame... I used to play Atari all the time until the chip burnt out last year after near 20 years of playing.

It sucks for me because I started on NES so I never got to truly experience the real classics other than through emulators :(.

The thing is probably 13 years old now and yet we still play it :D. Cool thing is, I managed to start off my cousin's 5 year old kids on the NES rather than on the playstation. When they got their own apartment here, I gave them my NES and they still use it (and they like it more than my PS2)

Does anyone here remember Sega Channel? I think I was the only kid in my neighborhood that had it back when it came out. My parents got rid of the service in favour of the new (at the time) and crazy fast 28.8 internet connections :dopey:.

good lord! It's Rush Limbaugh(sp?) and Mikhail Gorbachev. Rush is like the most radical Conservative Republican ever, and Mikahail is the former Premier of the USSR that paved the way for revolution in Russia and the end of the Cold War.

The names sound vaguely familiar. I don't think I've ever watched the news, or read a newspaper - maybe that's why I don't know who the hell they are.
