If you need it for a race, I can put one online for you to borrow. If you know how to borrow glitch, you can do that as well. Otherwise you'll need to get a 1970 bithday ticket and keep restoring until you get it. Or just grind the UCD until it pops up 👍

Why would you want that car? Looks like a pinewood derby thing with a jet exhaust.
But yeah, what he said ^

A. It's the best car for the A-spec/B-spec historic cup challenge.
B. It's a classic piece of Americana with it's ground-breaking technology.
C. Why does it matter? It's what he wants, so let him want it 👍

How much does it cost?

The game may say this, but the car was a joint project between Red Bull Racing with Adrian Newey, and Kazunori Yamauchi himself. So It's not completely Japanese.
Fair enough, but just for the sake of that answer the flag next to it says Japan

I encourage you to get it from a 1970 birthday ticket if you seriously are concerned about exorbitant price of the car, or through borrowing glitch as said above... Directly going to buy the car isn't very advisable as it costs more than 1,000,000,000 yen in the game...

I love 2J , i call it surprize box

lol, the Chaparral 2J is still enough competitive against other rivals(especially GT500 cars whose horsepower is around among 500~550hp) despite its obsolescence and whimsical looking as if it has been replaced with a huge fan instead of the extended tail of the car..

I agree with B and C above.
As for point A...try the Ford MK IV, after you give it a good rub down in the garage, and see if it doesn't best the 2J.

This car shows appears in the Used Car Dealership randomly. The cars available at the UCD are different each day of game time. A day passes when you complete a race or finish a license test. You can speed up the process by loading a license test and advancing to the next test, without ever actually racing the test. When the load screen appears between tests, one day will have passed. Five game days are required to completely refresh the Used Car Dealership's current stock, allowing another for the Formula GT car to appear.

i got this bit of info from gamewinners.com

I dunno if it is actually true, but it certainly worked for me on a couple of occasions. I used a car meeting requirement of the historic cup and ran it up a few times to cycle the UCD. TheUCD ended up cycling every single historic car through, including the 2J & 2D.

Astronomical coincidence.

Deoes any1 know where i can buy or get the Chaparral 2J Race Car ’70 from??????????

It popped up in the UCD for me today, but I only had about 12,000,000 Cr and it cost 14,500,000 Cr. I always enjoyed using that car in some races in GT4 but for most races it was rather lousy with the 3-speed trans. I was able to win all golds for the 70's Classic Races using a fully modded '63 Vette Z06 (C2) because all the other classic cars were too expensive. I definitely want to get the Chaparral 2J since it's such a unique race vehicle.

Legendary racing car! That's why. Jim Hall and his chaparral elves built sone of the most technologically advanced racing cars there were, especially fir then. Formula 1 uses one if his ideas today.
