ChatGPT believes we will soon be able to implement any car or track into GT7!

That's fair as well. It might even be 10 years, but barring any serious government regulations/interference or corporate domination of AI I still see it advancing to point that does eventually have these kinds of capabilities, especially when quantum computing becomes more normal. It's not so much if to me, but just when.
It’s about when, pragmatically is quite a long way away. Even if you throw current quantum tech at it….we are still talking years. Just less years.

I think the current models are amazing and deep mind doing some next level stuff let alone the less public things going on.

But will these be available commercially? Not in the next 5 years and the public stuff still is weak in the real world.

It will get there

That's a pretty reasonable take, I would have to agree. The whole idea is that it gets there - eventually. I am like most, skeptical of what kind of fall out will come with it advancing, but instead of dwelling on something I can't control I'd rather try and see the positive of it, you know?
We have powerful AI and quantum computers, we will be able to add cars and tracks, this is awesome!!

PD: No.
Probably lol. I mean definitely, actually. What company would want their product to be dissected moments after release by a super computer that could essentially create its own DLC. Good chance anything that powerful is regulated and kept hidden from us anyway.
personally i just do not trust in AI of any sort...
Very fair. I'm 40 now and I can't believe all of the advances I have witnessed already in life, so this is fairly new to me and quite mind blowing just based on speculation alone.
Instead of bringing the community together and propose some constructive ideas, we literally speculate on things that DON'T EXIST? Good to know, that’s exactly the kind of nonsense that makes PD choose to not take us seriously.
You're right, I must apologize. Within days a gathering of Polyphony execs will be sitting in a boardroom, prepared to make big, bold decisions.

Suddenly a man with a folder with burst through the doors.

"STOP! STOP EVERYTHING EVERYONE!"

The board members will look confused, curious, and concerned as the man rushes to the table and plaps the folder firmly down on it.

"You are all making a big mistake! The GTP forum ideas you were about to implement? No good, no good!" shouts the man while panting, out of breathe from his rapid jaunt to the meeting.

"All of those ideas we took from the players must be negated - A user with 10 posts made a speculative thread about AI hijacking our program! We must cut all ties with the site immediately and never consider their feedback again!"

The room looks on, stopping momentarily to think.

A slow, but thundering applause breaks out.

Some lower members stand up to leave, deciding how to get a cease and desist sent to GTPlanet as soon as possible.

"Thank God you got here in time Desu, we almost put the Lotus Espirit V8 in the game with the Autumn Ring!"

And then everyone clapped and went back on Reddit.

You clearly have comprehension issues, but I’ll try to explain it to you again. It’s exactly because of nonsense like this that PD has NEVER really listened to the community or to content creators. The ideas proposed are often low quality, and your post isn’t the sole reason, but it’s part of the problem. Your message comes from a poor understanding of what I actually wrote, and it’s also empty of meaning. I’m saying they don’t listen to us for a reason:
Polyphony Digital has never had much interest in community feedback. Are they bad, stupid, or arrogant?
No. It’s just not worth it, because the conversations often lack relevance, focus and competence.
We’re talking about advanced technology and artificial intelligence that has NOTHING to do with Sophy. Sophy, despite me not being an expert (and I don’t intend to become one), doesn’t answer questions, doesn’t generate, doesn’t create.
It’s made exclusively for on-track behavior.
Your argument might make sense 10\20 years from now, and maybe it could eventually connect with Gran Turismo’s world, but for now it’s way too premature, it lacks relevance.
And if they eventually add the Esprit or Autumn Ring, it definitely won’t be because of the community, forget about that. The active community nowadays is mostly asking for other things, unfortunately, especially when it comes to Autumn Ring. If it happens, it would only be out of extreme dedication toward the long-time players.

I have to admit. I gave up at "Hello my friend".

I'm not say if it was the first or second one. I will let you guess.

I gave up at "ChatGPT believes".

Don't get me wrong, LLM's can be incredibly useful but there's a massive misunderstanding by most people as to what they are and how they work.

Lol, I really don't care. It's called being polite. I try it with people, animals, and even lower functioning resources like AI. It's a cool concept, works more times than not for me.

On a side note, I ironically caught this on my Google homepage/recommended when you open a new tab. Found it somewhat interesting to be honest, even if it's wholly relevant to this particular thread -

Anyway, I'll let this thread be but first I want to sincerely apologize for speculating and daydreaming about the possibilities of an unknown future. I am sorry I shared the opinion of an inferior, non-human, programed machine with anyone. I had no idea I would hurt so many peoples feelings and upset this many members of the community. For that I apologize. I am sorry for the stress and grief my misguided optimism may have caused. Thank you for setting me straight.

PS - That's a reasonable take. Thank you for the thorough, well said explanation. I think at the end of the day we all want the same things, even if getting them means wishing for the extreme/unlikely. I agree with and respect your point(s).

This should have been where you put a full stop. Or (Period) for our NA peeps.

But no…

That’s about as disingenuous a person can be.

Nobody is hurt other than your feelings and that’s ok to want that final bite back that for “reasons” this thread didn’t go as you hoped. It’s a learning curve.

A couple of tips for the future:

Don’t believe from AI (sic) at the moment, it’s kind of like a Labrador it will work for you not for what is right/the best.

Remember that there are sometimes you aren’t the smartest guy in the room (I try to remember this a lot professionally) so it’s better to listen, understand or frame your position rather than defend any position you find yourself in.

Constructive input is always welcome, it’s just the demographic of this forum/sub forum I’d imagine skews quite highly to more mature peeps with a good portion of the participants being quite cynical or savvy. Bear that in mind.

Bonus tip:

“I played this little thought experiment game with Chat Jippity and thought wow, this has a lot of potential, what do you guys think? Possible? Plausible, busted?”
