i know that Daan has made a thread about some of the stuff needed to do this, i'm just having trouble trying to find a system that can do this for cheap.

can any of you guys help..thanks.

i have no recording device like DVD Recorder or Sky+ or anything. Just a TV, normal Sky, and a Home Cinema System/DVD player.

With what you have, you're out of luck. You need something which records, for a start.

DVD Recorder - £40 from DixonsCurrysCometPCWorld or Tesco. Discs (try and stick with DVD+Rs - bitter experience speaking) are about 40p each from Tesco. You'll need a cable to split the signal to both your TV and DVD recorder (otherwise you'll be playing against your own lag) - Maplins, about £5.

Still, daan's system is better - you can get an appropriate video card for about £20 now, and you don't have to worry about discs.

thanks for your help, i appreciate it. so it would be best to get a DVD Recorder and a TV Capture card is it?

is there no way i can do it without having a DVD recorder. i hardly have any space under the tv.

Way 1 - Use DVDs
Requires: DVD Recorder, DVDs, connecting cables

Way 2 - Use PC
Requires: Video capture card, connecting cables.

way 2 suits me. will it work on a laptop? cause don't you need a TV Tuner card? the cables go into the TV Tuner card or GFX?

Anything capable of receiving an external video signal will do.
