I think it was 5:40 this morning when I went on. I strongly dislike cheaters to a degree where I would attach them to a 908's cam shaft and make them spin around while I drove the legitimate way!

i just watched the first guy his replay too.how come we dont see him start and he's doing a 2nd lap right from the start of the vid?
not sure if its a simple track glitch,he could have edited game files.
all that to advertise from some stupid foreign magazine..
they should ban people like that from ever playing on psn,let them ruin xbox live instead :p

I think theres an easy way for PD to prevent this.instead of leaving the whole area thats hidden below the track blank, put some barriers like walls here and there so it becomes impossible to make a full lap around(under? :p) the track and set a time :)

I wish 1 of these hackers would make themselves useful to the game, like hack in to the steering wheel setup & put in button mapping for the G27 &/0r get rid of the deadzone in Logitech 's Wheels. Get a job you freakin A-holes.

At the end of the day if people want to cheat just to get themselves to the top of a leaderboard in a game, then they are pretty sad imo.Nothing more satisfying that keeping on trying again and again and again then when you finally crack the goal time then that does it for me.
I`m not fast enough to go to the top of leaderboards but once i golded the ring i was happy as larry!
Did it in a speed 8 by the way,i personally found the R10 a little twitchy but thats just my driving style.

I usually just ignore the leader boards, no matter which games you play, there is always someone try to cheat. I just try to focus on what I can do to improve my lap time...

It's very easy to explain, they have used the glitch that gets you out of the track then completed the first lap and gone on to do their second fast lap. No hacks involved they have just figured how to get their car off the track without any help. This really does suck though, I was looking forward to the Nurburgring time trials.

Now 7 glitchers in the top 10. Gsus! Hope they sorting it out before the glitch makes the big round. :grumpy:

i've shaved now another 4 seconds off only by switching from cockpit view & TCS: 0 to bumper cam & TCS: 1. Now down to 7:58,417 & rank #137 (basically rank #130 if you deduct the 7 cheaters).
Breaked the magic 8 minute wall, yay! :dopey:👍

Maybe i can find another 2 seconds & enter the top 100. :D

Wow this is pathetic. I can't believe Polyphony doesn't have some basic sanity checks in there to determine if a car is defying the in-game laws of physics. It seems like console developers are still stuck in a 1990's mindset writing code as if hackers and public networks don't exist. ("The PS3 is unhackable!" yeah right.)

Kaz and his team came 1st in class at the real race did they go under the track? :p but seriously congrats to them.

49th atm with 7'52.383. I used the 908, but looks like the Speed 8 is the new benchmark so will need to try it. 7'4X should be possible 👍.

To bad more and more are finding out the glitch 👎.

Did this twice.

First time, I used a Mazda RX-7 FC and it was under the hp limit by 20 hp, and over the weight limit by a noticeable amount performance wise.

Anyways, I messed up at near towards beginning of the long straightway (Don't know Nurb corners by heart) and had my lap invalidated, but I pressed on to do recon work and see what I can do.

Missed Gold by around 15 seconds, and estimated 6 of those was due to my mistake.

My second attempt was with the Mazda RX7 FD this time, and used the power limiter. The weight was near the minimum.

By the end of the straight towards the GP course, I thought I was gonna be off again, but kept pushing on to do more recon work. I wasn't even paying attention to the timer, and more on maintaining my car through the slippery bends after the straight.

When I finished, it said I got gold, to which I was like The 🤬?

I looked at my time, and it said 7:59:670 + or - .100.

I can confidently say, that this was the first time I ever said "wow", while playing GT5.

After seeing the replay of the cheaters, I got the strong urge to kick them in the balls.

Who would you contact to inform where you can break out?

I went in just to see if I could do it. Never tried before, and found it very easy. Very very easy, took me only minutes to find a opening.
Didn't try running a whole lap, my 8:40 on the controller was enough to make me happy.

They should make replayvidio's of every lap, that way all the glitchers & cheaters will be exposed. Now it's the top ten only, where you can be sure if some did an honest lap or not.

Great time! We should share our tunes. :D:tup:

I would PM one of the mods in the official Playstation forum: Official PlayStation® Community - Gran Turismo

They should know who to contact. ;)👍

Exactly. I don't understand why no replays for all 256 of the leaderboard. Is it so a big problem? If i am one of the few 256, then f.e. my friends should be able to watch a replay of it. :dopey:👍

Likely due to bandwidth constraint and costs, it's on PD's dime, not Sony's.

Its not a hack, its a glitch. There is a certain type of barrier combination that lets a car 'push' through it. PD tried to stop this by reseting the car to the middle of the track if you are too far from the track (this stopped the 8 second lap glitch) but it only resets you if you are too far away on the x,y co-ords looking at a plan of the track, it does not reset the car if its far under the map (on the z-axis). Allowing cars to glitch out of the track, stay under the model of the track and perform a lap without any gradient or barriers, kurbs, gravel.

Just laziness on PD's part, they should have done some beta testing to see if 'breakouts' were possible. And they should have code in place to make sure no car is below the track or outside the barriers. That said I dont think PD are lazy, im sure they didnt have the option to do beta testing that would be useful to them, and they probably thought their barriers were working properly, so there was no reason to use memory checking if the car was always on the track.

All just IMHO. :nervous:

There must be thousands / if not hundreds of thousands of GT "fanatics" that would gladly try & help PD make this the perfect Driving (and Racing) Game. PD can see who's racing fairly and within the rules, so PD why not "reward" those guys/gals by letting them test stuff out for you ? 💡

The Game (any game) should ideally be released free of bugs, glitches, errors and omissions. :). But as games get bigger everybody seems to assume that quantity will be more important to punters than quality... WRONG !!!! :grumpy:

Hackers do it for the glory & to show everybody else how "clever" they are. :indiff: Nothing is ever going to be 100% "hack-proof". :grumpy:

But CHEATS act like we're all playing the game under the same rules. But it looks like they're Better than the rest of us !!! :grumpy: But what they're actually doing is ruining the point of the Leaderboard for those who (like me) DON'T CHEAT !!!

They should have their "records" deleted from the Leaderboard & sent a Warning by PD. If they repeat offend, block them off completely. The GT5 community is better off without these Prats.

As long as I do my best time, that's what concerns me. I'm sure there will be a karma balance at some point.

Why not just make it so that if you cheat and the game sees that you cheat, Instead of banning or deleting them just put a "cheat" beside their time in the leader boards and add a filter so you can separate the cheat times from the legit. I think this would be the cheapest and simplest to implement.

If its proved, then why not.

If its proved, then why not.

If there was controversy about the standard of proof, they could have a euphemism for cheating.

Like 'Course Deviation Flaw'. Then they could just kick all the cheaters into that category and you could filter them out.

I don't know that I'm cool with banning them for this, though I do understand the reasoning behind that idea. Perhaps if they keep getting warnings? I dunno. Hard to get worked up over this degree of crime.

It's not hard to prove in this case i think. Btw good idea:tup: GTA has it too.., at least in of-line mode. Might be harder to prove in other cases if someone cheats.
But this case looks like an easy fix and a relatively easy to avoid problem.
Especialy with all the voluntary beta-testers available, as was mentioned earlier 👍

Crap idea. Cheaters on the leaderboard, roflmao!

Not only 1 cheater should be under the top 256. PD have to patch their game. End of story.

I don't see why it's so funny, they are already on the leader boards and I don't see no one laughing. You could filter them out.

Mind you it is a far out idea and will probably not happen but just tossing it out there.

Yeah I agree. I don't see "Gold Medalist" and "Gold Medalist - Cheat category" in the Olympic games, do you?

As shown by the recently discovered Item count limit, the past issue of the self-corrupting save games that went past 4MB, and the amount of out-track glitches, GT5's test period was quite short and incomplete. PD has to FINISH their game. And cheater kids have to return to Need For Speed...
