All I can say is wow. There are far too many people on this forum who are taking this way too seriously. I'm gonna let you in on something...
It is a game.
This is the first thing you should remember when "cheating on your wife". Sorry, but the melodramatic statements, and out and out name calling are pathetic. Do you realize that many people play this game to race, and have fun, and make the game as interesting as possible?
I for one did not want to dupe cars, or do the glitch (as I really never knew about them). I stayed off the forums and played. I ran the Historic Cup (hardest race in teh game) honestly with my Lambo for hours just to beat it. When I did, I felt accomplished. After that, every race was simple and easy to complete.
I even started a second account to start over using only unmodified cars (to a point). Then I moved on to B-Spec and still found it easy.I then moved from the controller to a wheel just to add excitement. Still, I found it fun, but kinda boring just having to put in the time just to beat the race. And then, the slap in the face...
First slap: $117,000 for 5 and a half hours of racing an endurance race??? Seriously?
Second Slap: No more trading. So my brother and I cannot share our cars we worked so hard to get???
Third slap: Listening to the trolling idiots who equate adultery to exploiting a glitch to get some money to drive the really fast cars.
I don't know what else to do now. This forum has become (In the 3 weeks I have been on it) the most unbelievable collection of whining, self important, morally deprived cry baby idiots I have ever heard. Do you actually believe what you write? Do you really feel like you "cheated on your wife" by exploiting the glitch? If so, please put the controller down, and get some serious help. People like you put way too much behind a video game. Seriously, get out of the house and do something. Put away the PS3 and move on.
I have waited 6 years for this game to drop. I did some trading and duping to acquire cars I have never seen in the game (trust me, I look all the time) and some out of opportunity. I used the glitch to acquire the cash to afford a few cars that I will never be able to without "grinding" and I feel I should not have to make the choice between this old race car and that old forgotten race car.
MaSonn09: there is a difference between exploiting a glitch in a fictional world we call GT5, and breaking into someones house. I'll use the same analogy in a different game.
In Call Of Duty, there are games that require the placement of a bomb or the capture of a point. You do not require shooting and killing someone to accomplish the goals, but it happens. People do it for fun. Should that justify the ability to do it in real life? How about beating the hooker who serviced you in GTA4? Should you be able to do it in real life?
No. The difference is not your moral compass, but the fact that one resides in a digital world, and one in the real world (not the one on MTV). You make choices in real life, which have results and consequences which effect your life and the ones around you.
If some kid is using the glitch to get money, what does it matter to you? Do you really feel like he stole the fake money from your fake wallet out of your fake car?
Cliff Notes: Stop taking the game seriously. If you actually feel like the glitch and cheating on your wife are one in the same, put down the controller and seek professional help. maSonn09, your analogy is flawed and needs a touch up. Get over it. It is a game, in a fake land, with fake money.
