Okay, for some reason these vids are only playing for two seconds and then cutting out. Also, no sound.

EDIT: Youtube-wide. at least, for me.

The same thing happens to me, but why it happens nobody knows. Even youtube doesn't know why it happens, or at least that's what I read. How you solve it is to have the Firefox add-on that allows you to switch over to IE in Firefox. Videos will play fine when you switch over to IE, you just have to put up with IE's crappy slowness.

That is of course if you're using Firefox.

yesh, I <3 the Fierfawx, but this is an interesting development. Lemme dig up the ol' IE install.

EDIT: I'll wait for it to fix itsself. Good word, IE's crappy slowness is NOT worth it.

"I love you Skyline"

Random man "It's a real powerful car"
Paul newman "I know, it's a Skyline, it's terrific"

Not 80's but still amusing. :)

This is an annual promotion for two local car dealers that still exist, albeit, now owned by the Uftring group. This one's particularly bad.

Renault 5 does San Francisco...

Fiat Uno FTW!!!1!!!one!!

Who needed MTV in the 1980s, when you had TV ads?

¡En fuego!

I was looking for the stupid Amerikajin Justy ad, found the stupid Nihonjin one instead:

Very quick from 0-50.

Anything lamer than a quarterback hawking a scooter?

Vel-vet!

Yes. From Ricardo Montalban's introduction of the Chrysler Cordoba. He adlibbed the part about "rich Corinthian leather" off the top of his head, because he wanted another opportunity to roll the Rs. The marketing guys loved it so much they ran with it.

It continued on into the '80s, although I can't find a YouTube video to back that up.

That may be the first publicly acknowledged example of underbody lighting. Ever.

boy, this one musta escaped my attention....

note to Euopeans: the "merkur" commecial is how Ford Europe tried to sell the US the Sierra and (i believe) the RS?
