anyone who also want to see a corvair in gt4? it was a corvair in the fake gt4 car list awhile ago... any new rumors?... would have benn fun racing a fast yenko stinger. or maybe a corv8....

Please read all the sticky threads above before starting a new thread.

You're off to a bad start here, so be careful.

I can understand the head-bashing-on-brick-wall-cuz-this-is-another-"oh-God-I'd-Like-To-See-This-In-There"-post, but actually mentioning a Chevy Corvair has some merit.

They're the only mass produced rear-engined American car ever made, the Monza and Corv8 versions are incredibly quick (for 60s American sedans), and their engine layout makes them very unique in handling characteristics and behaviour.

Corvair's are also famous for being the focal point of Ralph Nader's book "Unsafe at Any Speed." C'mon, wouldn't it be fun to race one of the most dangerously ill-handling vehicles known to Man??

My brother had a Corvair; a '63 Rampside. We planned on tossing a V8 ahead of the rear axle to make it some sort of rediculous mid-engined rusty speed box. Good times!

Yes, I'd like to see at least one in GT4.

First off, welcome to GTP. Secondly don't worry about making this thread, however in future you should make comments like this in threads already made for info on car lists ect no matter what the car is. The main reason is that this site is over cluttered with threads like that and keeping it all in one or two threads makes life easier and helps the mod's keep the place organised and pleasent.

O yes, that was a great car. A popular tuning car too! I have an old magazine here with an article about a Corvair tuned by Empi, the famous VW Beetle tuner of the 60's.

It is a significant car in Chevrolet history, that's enough as a reason to be in GT4. It would be one of my favorites.

Wasn't it made in many variations, including at least one truck, and some concept cars called Monza SS and Monza Spyder?

And ... it was a great donor for kit-cars and buggies. In 1966, a Corvair powered Manx won the sportscar -3000cc class in Pikes Peak. Its engine was further used in VW Beetles, so it would be a nice addition for hybriding too :)

btw Roadbeef, are you the same as the Roadbeef in GTF? I remember you worked at Sears Point 1,5 year ago. Do you live in Germany now?

:) Welcome aboard. And this would be a cool car to add.But I dought that it would be included.

i hope they add a wide range of cars... but on the list are just the thypical models... not many rare collectibles... corvairs where also one of the first cars productet with turbo... the spyder 63-64 and the corsa 65-67?... anyhow it deserve a place in gt4....

GT4 is supposed to include a few more classic cars and rare collectibles compared to previous releases, and remember, at best, we know 1/2 to 2/3 of the car list, there may yet be some pleasant surprises.

It looks like a corpse with sunglasses and a helmet is driving that thing..

and the Corvair was one of the cheesiest cars ever built.

Nothing wrong with this subject imo 👍

The corvair would be a nice vintage racer.

Hey Buggy Boy,

Yup, that's me, the same beef. I remember discussing the different track layouts PD may be using of Sears for GT4 with you, after I posted about watching them walk around in their GPS backpacks and such. Too bad I didn't save that thread to my hard drive... (stupid Kenji! ;) )

Good times, noodle salad.

Great to see you here, by the way!

Ah you're there again :)
No problem, the tread is still available! But everyone seems to have forgotten about the track being in GT4 ...

I send you a PM.

There used to be a Corvair that raced in Britain in the 'Super Saloons' series during the mid 70's - It was basically a McLaren M8 CanAm front and back end with a Corvair mid section - it was fantasic! It was the only car capable of beating Gerry Marshall's Baby Bertha - so he bought it and stored it! - now that would be a great addition to GT4!

disapointing to se that there are no chevrolet corvair confirmed on gt4 so far.... yust thougt it would have been a historical correct car in gt4...
