The ZR1 is debatablely the best American production car of its time and Chevy's answer the International criticism towards American car.
The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 has proven to out match even the best of foreign cars such as the Lamborghini Murcielago SV LP670, and Porsche 911 GT1, so why is it so under used in GT5? I usually never see people use the ZR1 unless they need it for a cheap, but fast car for an event. Where are the true blue fans? If your favorite car in real life and in GT5 is the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (C6), leave a comment and tell me what you think.

It's fast and fun and I'm a Corvette fan because of the Le Mans heritage they have, which alot of it came to make the ZR1, then turned around and used the ZR1 as the base to build the new C6.r for GT2. Also not all Americans think that way, it's like me generalizing and saying why do Brits have many of the manufactures owned by asian corps. or why do germans over engineer their saloons only to be beat by Japanese ones. See how when I say things keldabest they hold more generalization than actual truths.

I personally love Mustang's over Vette's but still. It is a very good car and I appreciate all it's goodness lol.

Really I'll take Ford over Chevy anyday tho.

I tested it a few days ago and was surprised how good it was in every way, the funny thing is, many months ago I drove it somewhere in A-spec mode and thought it was absolute and utter crap. But after driving 458 Italia and the likes, yes you read right, the Ferrari 458 Italia, I must say that I like the ZR 1 more and was actually faster with it than with most other hypercars such as...the 458. True story bro lol.

Probably because absolutely everyone INSTANTLY does the race modification for the ZR1. As for why you're not seeing it online, maybe because the PP of the RM is too high, or there are other cars people like more at that PP.

Also, don't kid yourself, the ZR1 is no 911 GT1 competitor. GT3, maybe. GT2, definitely. 911 GT1's only competitors were the McLaren F1 and CLK GTR.

Yeah back then...we're talking about a car that is 15 years old...There are family sedans that are now close to the 911 GT1. I would say that there are plenty cars now that can beat up on the GT1 of so far yesterday. Dont get me wrong it's an awesome car but we're not in 1996 anymore.

A 96 911 GT1 would be about as fast as the 2006-ish GT1's, the 97/98 variants would wipe the floor with most cars today and probably be knocking on the door of LMP2. Same for the 95/96 McLaren F1, it'd pants the current GT1 cars easily.

I'd say that there isn't much to beat the street version which is what the OP is talking about. If we're talking race cars then I totally agree that the GT1 is way faster and I think would be faster than the LMP2s of today which aren't impressive. The rules of yesterday made for faster crazier rides and if the GT1s of today were off the hooks they'd be just as fast.

Sorry but the Corvette C6r is my absolute well I can't say that cause I have too many top favorite cars that I'd love to own.

Mine was the C6 Z06 (I'm a big cube V8 fan) when I had a bit of a Corvette fad going, I'd take a Z07/CFZ specced 2012 Z06 over a ZR1 anyday

coming from a 17 year old who grew up all around corvettes of numerous generations, having driven a c5/c6, i can say that gt5 made the zr1 a fairly nice and somewhat accurate ride, but i just dont enjoy corvettes for much else other than le mans and the occaisional joyride. the car in real life is just too cheap for me, and kinda kills it in the game.

and besides, subaru brought back the impreza sedan. why would i wanna drive anything else ;D (a joke, ive been flamed for that comment before.)

One of my top 10 favorite cars to drive without a question. The ZR1 is perfect the way it is and needs no modifications. It is by far the ultimate american muscle car!

If it weren't for the fact that many of the test I've seen for super/hypercars end with one of the cars being compared breaking down I wouldn't defend the corvette so quickly. The Porsche on a few magazine test have been known to not start after a few day, start to melt the paint in the california sun and be high maintnence. Then the Lambos have transmission failures. Ferrari, Nissan, Lexus and Chevy super cars seem to not have as many issues as others at the end of the article.

I'll just leave this here.

The Corvette ZR1 and Z06 are my favorite production cars in the game. I have 5 of each. In a "Street Cars Only" room online I'm likely in a vette. I too am a fan of Corvette because of their Le Mans/IMSA/FIA heritage. With that said, I don't drive the C6R Z06, C6R ZR1, or C5R Corvettes in the game because Kaz made them sound like 4 cylinders:yuck: Its a disgrace really, especially when you've witnessed them race in person.

Well one thing is for sure, I have never met anyone that loves a ZR1 as much as I love a Ford GT. I'll trade my girl friend straight in for a Ford GT anyday ;)
