Chevrolet Monza and Mustang Front appearance

Hey guys,
So I was looking at Chevrolet cars on Wikipedia and I looked at the timeline at the bottom of the page and clicked on the chevy Monza, not knowing what it is. So I read it and scrolled down until I hit this picture:

Then I was all like

Wait, wait, wait, wait.... isn't that a picture of a Mustang 3rd gen? I checked and It wasn't. Is there any story behind this?

What story would you like? We used to own one of those, and it came before the Mustang you're talking about. Never thought it looked that similar... The earlier ones had the same lights in chrome. The resemblance is simply due to the black surround and the angle of the shot. In the metal, the snouts aren't all that similar.
