Dont know why but I find the '07 much sexier then the 09 and 12 versions.. After the comp I'm taking aero off and keeping it sexy hahaha

Remembering Kenny's "support your local drag competitions" tip I thought I would join in :D although I don't think I will get any more out of it

I also forgot to buy a wing... just in case ;)

, and very nice fest!

Okay.. First tune and after 3 runs of finding shift points I'm at 9.112.. This will be good :)

This is where i've got mine to so far... though it took me alot more than 3 runs to get there . I'm going to keep trying but I can't see mine getting much faster as I seem to struggle with AWD cars.

Very nice time fest0r 👍

Ok, I really suck at tuning awd. Right now I'm at 9.189. I've got to be missing something lol. I'll try to work on it some more later to see what else I can getout of it. Is 855 the right hp?

It's 856 lol.

When exactly does this end? I'll try and get a tune in by Monday evening eastern time.

This is were im at with it so far. Theres still a couple things I need to try and see if they improve it or slow it.

FTL (full throttle launch) gets me a 9.154/9.155

From my testing using a wing only makes this car slower, (fist time i've seen the wing have negitive affects) on a FTL run it slowed my time down to 9.159 so shouldn't have to worrie about any hidden SRF runs in this comp.

Being as you brought it up (kind of lol), what is considered acceptable as far as launching. I ran full-throttle launch on mine to avoid confusion. It makes me no difference either way because this is a speed test run not indy, so is timing your launch ok? Or do you feel we should run wot from black screen to give the best representation of what our tune is capable of at Indy?

I also had the same results with a wing. 👍

6 months from now

Finishes on 6/12/2012 (12th June 2012) :D:tup:

Ok , thanks

By the way, I think is was the Mayan in charge of the calendars that took one to many mushrooms and simply forgot to write up more of them.

I'd assume we're alloud to use the timed launch technique or as I like to call it the "Ideal RPM launch" technique, it's what I did to get my time of 9.106 and would guess it's also what Karo and fest0r did to get their times too, if they didn't then well I will feel slow

But we'll have to wait until Karo replies for the final verdict 👍

I'm assuming too, but you know what they say about assumption lol. It wouldn't surprise me if they were launching full-throttle. They're pretty fast. It would make me feel horribly slow though.👍

Naw guys with full throttle launch I get a 9.144 but I timed launched it. I'll tell you what I did see u it works out for you guys too. Let's say you guys have your final set at 160mph top speed. What I did was set it to 158 and stretched 6th till it read 160. This way all of my gears are shorter then usual so it gives me a faster 0-60 & 100. See if it works out for you guys. Maccer and feat0r you guys are almost there I'm sure you can shave a couple .00x seconds off the way I tuned the tranny. :)

I was timing the launch (just after the 1). Unless we change to video submissions I think it would cause too much suspicion. There is also the issue with PAL/NTSC running different times using full throttle before load. Depending on the car and how quickly it bounces (cycles) of the limiter this could be quite a difference.

I just tried a wing (ftbl) and although it didn't give a quicker 1/4 it lowers my 0-60/0-100 times:

No wing:

1/4: 9.162
0-60: 1.866
0-100: 3.988

Wing:

1/4: 9.162
0-60: 1.864
0-100: 3.983

I guess it depends on your tune and the drag after 0-100, but it might be enough to get an extra 0.001 :D

EDIT: might not get the chance now, but I will give that a go if I get the time nuke 👍

The annoying thing is since getting this time i've made changes again and improved my 0-60 to 1.815 and 0-100 to 3.925 not a lot I know  but in doing that it's somehow slowed my time by 0.001 down to 9.105  even tho I technically gained 0.002 in the run, and I hadn't made any changes to 5th or 6th gear so the time from 100mph to the fininsh shouldn't have changed.

In fact I'm having alot of anomalies with car for example I've had one run come out with these figures

0-60 in 1.815
0-100 in 3.925
1/4 in 9.105

Then on another run I might get

0-60 in 1.817
0-100 in 3.931
1/4 mile in 9.106

And thats without any changes to the tune  I know I must be shifting a different points in each run but I dont understand how a differance of 0.002 in the 0-60 and 0.006 slower in the 0-100 will only slow the full 1/4 time by only 0.001, this is also making this car very hard to figure out what im suposed to be adjusting to improve it when I can get such varried sector times but the over 1/4 time differance is barely affected.

I'll do my time with a FTL and let you know..

Awesome time! 👍

Alot of time when tuning I will startwith at to get exact times to work from. This is very helpful for fine-tuning your suspension. Once I have my suspension set up I'll switch to mt and move on to tuning the tranny.
