What were the cars you always wanted as a kid and thought were cool? The cars you had on posters, watched movies with them in over and over again or even used to see down your street and liked the look of? Doesn't matter if they're over the top supercars, plain-jane family sedans/saloons or even racing cars, post them here.

Should be interesting to see how different or possibly even similar they are. If its possible, try to find a pic that matches close enough to the style you liked best. Here's a selection of mine.

My dream car when I was younger was a 1997 Jaguar XJR. ATTACH=full]367545[/ATTACH]

Great thread idea! When I was young I had strange taste in cars (but then didn't we all?). I loved cars with high top speeds, and until the age of about 12 I never even considered the driving experience. My favourites were fairly typical, I suppose:

Later on I developed a liking for this, the 730 bhp Brabus S V12 S:

As well as this:

The first car I ever started (at the age of 13) was one of these, so naturally I fell in love with it:

Big SUVs were all the rage when I grew up, and almost all of my friends' parents had some variation of the Tahoe/Yukon/XL/Suburban. Seeing as the combined sales of all these matched that of Camrys at the time, it wasn't a placebo; these really were everywhere. I always wanted my parents to take the plunge, but their pragmatism drove them towards a pair of Toyota Highlanders. A decade later, the GMT800 trucks are still one of my favorite platforms, and they've now depreciated enough to where even I could reasonably swing the cost of getting one of my own.

The Aston-Martin V12 Vanquish has been one of my dream cars ever since I was little. For at least ten years, I've had a poster of one in my bedroom.

I also was a fan of the second generation Chevrolet S10.

I hate to kill your childhood dreams, but there's no such thing. The XJ dropped the V12 after 1997, and the XJR was never a V12. The 1998 model had a supercharged V8, and previous XJRs had a supercharged I6.

Had a poster of these which I got from a Ferrari magazine which came with a scale model. As I was a kid, I broke the model and the poster was thrown away because I moved on to planes but even now, I want a yellow F50.

I meant 1997 XJR, must've typed 1998 by mistake.

Surprised to see a Primera in your batch of cars. I thought it was a nice looking car. It's an Infiniti here in the USA.

The Primer IS the oddball. Why I liked it, I had no idea. I only liked the one with those headlight and the rectangular like taillights, any other Primera I didn't like. I have no idea why though. Most of them are cause of GT, the Primera, Skyline, M3 and Impreza were all because of GT4, the Shelby because of that Knight Rider reboot and the Firebird because of Smokey & The Bandit

Growing up in the later 80's and early 90's, I think my "childhood dream vehicles" would reflect the era pretty well.

Toyota Pickup (Hilux/Tacoma), Back to the Future sealed the deal on this for me.

I'm lucky enough to own my childhood dream car.

Of course, I grew up around old racing cars, and I especially loved Listers.

PT Cruiser was one of my favorite cars(posters and models) until we borrowed one when our van got rear ended and i hated the back seats.

The Delfino Feroce was my favorite car from Project Gotham Racing which was 1. the first racing game I ever played and 2. an exclusive to the first console we ever owned.

In retrospect I'm not sure whether I still like it or not. I... think I like it? It sounds like it would be ridiculously fun to drive given that it's basically an Impreza that weighs as much as an Elise, but I don't even know if any were even sold in the first place.

I had a fascination with concept cars and unusual cars (even for supercars) as a kid, and wanted one of these more than anybody has a right to:

I was young and very stupid.

For reference, my current dream car:

Things went weird at some point along the way.
Is that station wagon a Volvo of some sort?

I love this style on square bodied trucks so much.
