The chit-chat thread has been closed, because it has nothing to do with chit chat anymore.
If some of us can't help posting another message to veilsidebr, this thread is there for that, though I think that everything (or probably too much) has been already said.
When the issue about veil will have settled down, in a way or another, I'll close this spim-spam thread and re-open a new chit-chat thread that we can use for regular chit-chat.

Have a nice race a Seattle mates.

Is there rules to what I can post in here? .... the last chitchat thread got closed after my post and yet you yourself Cyril was able to get the last word over the matter after it was closed and I couldn't reply to your post as I dont have a moderators badge

What happened around here with this authority gets the last word regime that has been implemented?

Anyway I am done with this matter and going back to my TV and watch that new movie Jarhead :sly:

Goodbye Max! ... cya on aim mate 👍

Goodbye Max! ... cya on aim mate 👍

The thread was closed by Kent while I was typing my answer, and I noticed this only after my post was sent. I was not planning to post and prevent you from replying, sorry for that.
Feel free to post a reply in this thread or to PM me.
The WRS has not turned into some dictatorship, despite the recent events. :guilty:

Sorry Mr P, i think Max E was a mate of yours, but good riddence to bad attitude, really.
In the end he was goading the mods to ban him, and maybe you didn't see his post's, but I did, ALL of them! And if TM & Kent hadn't stepped in when they did, I would have been PMing whichever Super-mods were online at the time myself.

I know that might seem like running to the teacher's, but I was personally DISGUSTED by what he was saying. He got what he deserved, full-stop!

Anyway, tell me what you think of Jarhead, I have a copy, but haven't watched it yet!

Max was banned even before he posted his final post. I mean, posting a final warning like that in the public forum was bound to get the reaction needed for a ban.

However, in my opinion, what veilside is doing disgusts me more. What Max was saying or at least, attempting to say, is that if he wants to a moronic act, despite how obviously illogical it is everybody knows it, just let him do it.

I was thinking about this last night. Veil has complete respect of everybody in the GT community. Everybody looks at his times and wishes they could do the same. Everybody know that he amazingly talented. Everybody looks up to him.

If he does, he will lose it all. As far as I know, he is in perfect health with his whole life ahead of him. He says that "I'm poor, and I'll never be able to achieve my dreams", that's how life works sometimes, it's called reality. Sure, some people are born into wealthy families where they'll get whatever they want, however, 99.999% of us arn't.

At any rate, if he's dead, what chance of racing does he have? None. Even being being alive, you have the slim chance of winning lotto, getting a sponsor or marring into a rich family. You never know. You can't do any of this if you're dead.

But despite all this, if he still wants to do it, just get it over with. Their is no point hanging around here and trying to explain himself. Personally, I've lost all the respect I had for him, and it's obvious quite a few have around here have done the same.

Max hasn't posted on the forums since october, hasn't raced in the WRS for months (years ?) and he suddenly pops in and posts 3 times in Week 41 thread, being very rude with veilsidebr here, here and here.
After I asked them to move the discussion to the chit-chat thread, he posts an even more offending message here, which has been deleted by TM who issued a warning. Then he starts his show here in a post removed by Kent, and continues here, here, here and here.

I still don't understand what he was expecting from this attitude. Just pushing his luck further and further even what it was already too far.
I don't see where it could have led other than a ban. If someone does, please explain to the dumb frenchman that I am.

@Casio
Agreed, what Veil says he wants to do, and his reasons for it just don't add up. And then to anounce it on here, and almost seem to be bragging about it, is reprehensable, or at the very least stupid.

And Cyril
Max's comments and especially the quoting of the lyrics he did (which only stayed on for about twenty mins or so, before being stripped by TM/Kent, and I don't think many saw), was just plain and simple flaming, and was totally out of order.

He deserved to be banned just for that.

If and when Veil desides to do what he says he is going to do, it will be a loss, not just here, but obviously to his family/friends. But not to me personally, as, Casio, like you, I have lost my respect for him as a person.

His skills are un-doubtable, for him to give up at his age is pathetic, and to splash it all around on here is unconscionable.

That's all i have to say.

All I have to say on this issue is: Anyone can go buy a beat up 4-cyl car, prep it a bit *rollcage, seat* go down to the local oval, and race, simple as that, that's my only dream in life to involve motorsports, is to at least feel the thrill of compitition, may it be at 70mph in a beat up accord at my local 1/3 mile, or 170mph, on the banks of daytona.

Sorry but what the heck is going on? I just found out Max was banned...but something wrong with the veilside dude?

Casio

Thanks for the info

And is sad to hear something like that, I used to feel like that when I acknowledged that getting a professional career on soccer was already out of reach, but suddenly, God came into my life and he has filled me in with happiness and joy all days.

Veilside, if you are going to do it, don't...you don't have a clue about what God has prepared in your life, and if you don't believe in him...better start to believe, he is the only who can fill that void in your life.

Kolyana
I don't believe and I don't have any voids. Is there something wrong with me?

This is not the place!

If you want to do this, go the opinion forum!

If the man belives in god and it brings him happiness then kudos to him 👍

Just leave this topic alone ;)

It's ok, he just asked a question, and quite respectfully...because other people seem to lose their nerves when someone says God...even insulting and stuff but all cool, already used to that :) and I like to talk about God, not about religion...two different things.

I was thinking the exact same thing late last night. There's really NO good reason whatsoever racing has to be expensive. If you want to compete, and want the thrill of the adrenalin rush - nothing, and I do mean nothing, beats a motorcycle..

You can get eg. a Honda NT650, bigbore kit, plenty "go fast" parts, race bodywork and all the preppings for less than US$ 2000. It may not look like much by todays standards, but if you've never been on a bike before, its 70-odd hp WILL scare the **** out of you... And the competition in it's class is very intensive...

Hey... Most people who just WANT to race will race anything...

Anyway - My 0.02 Euros....

You could also do something like this for realitivly little money.

This is also quite cheap if compared to what you can be up for in some forms racing.

But Flerbizky is exactly right. You don't need alot of money to have fun racing.

my life's ambition is to get into racing, i have all the exact same thoughts of the racing world as Sammuel

Casio
You don't need alot of money to have fun racing

for either of us to get into a serious competitive go-kart league, a season will touch around 10,000$

i really hope to get into the ladder system for Champ Cars...
--- Rotax MaX Nationals ( go karts )
--- Ford Atlantics Series
--- Champ Cars

each ladder series provides scholarship money if you win the championship
enough to get you to the next step

but 10,000$... how am i supposed to decide wheather i want a car for real life, as this is the most practical way to spend this money

or 10,000$ to follow my dream? and take a gamble... its all so hard.... :(

If you really want it, follow your dream 👍

You'll notice soon if you have enough talent or not. If not, racing will stay a hobby. If yes, go for it and who knows where it's gonna end...

If I could see any opportunity myself, I would grab it immediately. Only I don't have the enough money atm and want to finish study first before I want to 'invest' some money in racing.

"...i want to be just like the moderators here. i figure all i need is a lobotomy and some tights "

Not seen better words posted since WIty called em all goons.

Nice one Max 👍

Welcome to GT Planet Enoch ! And congrats for your first post.
I find it a great first post. It's like wearing a T-shirt that reads "I'm a hooligan" in capital letters when entering the stadium : it makes it easy for the people in charge to keep an eye on you.

I hope your next posts will deal with racing or gaming, which as a matter of fact are the main topics on this forum.

Does that $10 000 include the kart? Do you expect to win in your first year, coz if you don't it will end up costing AT LEAST $20 000...

Yeah, thats a huge amount of money, but not nearly as much as it would be if you were to try to jump right into cars.. I checked out Team Lexus, who runs the grand am touring class, they will farm out thier cars for a season, for a cool $75,000, so carting looks pretty damn practical, regardless of whether or not the kart is included.

PS.
I have an A4 DTM lined up for the upcoming DTM series, anybody want to team up with me?

Just to throw my 2 cents in on the veil suicide threat... I'm seeing many regular posters trying to sway Veil away from suicide by trying to reason with him, ie. "you could race" or "think how lucky you are". In my experience, people who are considering sucide are suffering from clinical chronic depression. This can result from mental trauma (past sexual abuse, post traumantic stress disorder, past violent victimization) or from biological imbalances, such as unusually high or low levels of the chemicals in our bodies that trigger good or bad feelings. Rational arguments usually have very little effect on these deep seated mental problems. The problem that Veil identifys, that he can never become a professional race driver, probably has very little to do with his reaching a level of hopelessness that could lead to suicide. Wouldn't we all be happier to quit our day jobs and drive a F1 car? Veil may not be aware of what is driving his hopelessness... He probably attached it to the racing thing because that's one way to make sense out of the feelings he's having. Veil, if you're listening, talk to a mental health professional who is qualified to help in these cases... often thier training enables them to see and point out causes of hopelessness that we've been unable (or unwilling) to see ourselves. Don't think you're not depressed just because you can still laugh... depression manifests in different ways for different people. I spent most of my life depressed... I could go a year without feeling good about anything. I couldn't even get excited about suicide... It was a real bummer! But now I really enjoy life and have fun, joy and hope everyday (even when life sucks, which it often does), because I had some help in solving my real problems and I went on to a whole new chapter of my life that I never expected to have. Give yourself a chance, man... as someone who has been there, it's so worth it...

yes kart, probly alot closer to 20,000

may i ask what is it that you do? since you are karting competitively
