Thats right, after there being no British drivers in the WRC for the past season and a half, 2 of them come along at once, but only for one round, Wales rally GB.

Colin Mcrae is confirmed to be driving a Skoda Fabia WRC works drive car in the event with hopes of returning to the WRC next season, the 1995 world champion will make a valuble addition to the team

JWRC Title contender Kris Meeke also of Britain will step up from his Citroen C2 to take the wheel of a Prodrive backed Subaru Impreza WRC ready to compete at the sports top level.
Meekes career is supported, coincidentally, by Mcrae who has been trying to get the young brit into a WRC car for some time.

Finally we see some brits in the mix, hopefully this wont be Mcraes last rally and same with Meeke, being that he is backed by Prodrive could mean a works drive at Subaru next season.

I haven't been following recently but.....

What happened to Richard Burns?

Before Wales rally GB in 2003 he blacked out behind the wheel of his Peugeot on one of the road sections between the stages and it was later revealed he had a brain tumour.
I beleive he has recovered and a short while ago Subaru told him he is always welcome there, i expected him to be fit for 2005 but maybe we wont see him for a while.

Imagine how scary that would be for the co-driver! :guilty: :nervous:

Even scarier when you find out that it was actually on the motorway on the way to the rally, not in between stages, and he gave Marko Martin a lift in a fast 2 seat sports car (possibly a Ferrari - I forget).

Hmm, yeah. End of 2003.

It kinda explains why Burnsie was having such a bad season. I remember thinking he was overrated and slow. Then when I found out the reason I felt bad :(

Hopefully he can make a full recovery, I doubt we'll ever see him in the WRC again though.

Mcrae looks like he needs to spend some time in the gym :indiff: I'm looking forward to seeing him drive though :D
