I'm having a hard time getting his "crazy AWD Scion in my garage"! Time Attack World Championship. I'm so close in my R35, but I just haven't been able to finish in 1st. What has everyone else found to be their best B-level car, especially for these time attack races. I've tried the E92 and Evo IX, but the R35 is the fastest for me, it seems. Maybe I just need to tune it better. Any suggestions for better car and/or tunes?

I used the Ford Escort works coverted (1300+ PI). Came 1st, 2nd and 2nd in first 3 races which meant I was just 2 points behind Rado in the overall points. For the last race I used the Z06 works converted (2100 PI). I came 4th but Rado only came 8th which meant I finished with a podium and higher than Raldo - I got his car! Kind of cheating I guess. I was getting closer and closer to his times with the Escort in evry race but after a week and half of it I'd had enough!

I used a stock Carrera GT and ended up 1,2,2,2, so I then I used a Works Cartherham and got first place in all four events.

To the thread title though, he does have a very intense "flat brimmed hat bro" vibe about him. He's obviously fast but I'd assume he'd get on my nerves pretty quick if he really acts anything like he does in his little video clip in the game.

Yeah, I finish 1st, 2nd, 2nd, and 2nd in my R35. I didn't know you could switch cars, I thought you had to use the same car throughout. Also, I've been wondering what is the best car that you can Works convert and still stay in the B-Class. Is it the Escort?

I'm right now trying T-12's R35 V-Spec v.2 tune in my regular R35. I finished 1st in race 1, and I just finished 2nd at Glendale West (I hate that track!), but I did set my best lap time, so I'm hopeful I can get a 1st in one of the last two and at least tie him. He's never finished worse than 2nd (to me) in any races so far, I wish he would finish 8th for me!

True dat, ummmm, bro? I'm an old guy and all that stuff just really gets on my nerves! But, I'm sure us old guys get on the kid's nerves too!

So, you can Works convert a Caterham and keep it in the B-Class, huh?

I find most of the characters in the game annoying, far too 'over-the-top'. I would prefer them to tone it down and take things more seriously.

The bloke who 'calls out the green' at the beginning if the race needs to cool it a little. I keep thinking he's going to pass out with excitement after each race!

Yeah, I couldn't get into Dirt 2 for the same version. Oh well..

If you works convert a Caterham it knocks it up to A-Class, around 1800. I'm pretty sure the Scion Tc is A class as well though isn't it? Why do you want a B-Class car?
Also, you're in Kentucky? Go grab a mint julep and watch some horse races; it's Derby weekend!

Options -> Sound -> Voice -> off Problem solved. 👍

I know how you feel. I beat him in 1 or 2 races with an unworksed Murchielargo. Came 2nd to him in all races with a Veyron and cannot beat him.

I think you're required to use a B-Class or lower car in that set of Time Attacks. I'm pretty sure A-Class cars don't qualify.

I've lived in KY most of my life. I've been to the Derby twice, and until yesterday I could only name one horse in the race. Now I can name two. And mint juleps suck! Have you ever actually drunk one? Yuk!

Yeah, I've tried turning the speech off too, but it was just too quiet, so I put up with Gittin, Jr. repeating the same annoying things over and over again.

Chris Rado Sucks Indeed! I won his Scion! Finally! Actually, I tied him at 44 points and that counts as a win. Did it with the R35 B1497, PS3, DS3. That took too much effort!

You don't have to use a B-class car, I just discovered today, but I'm proud of myself for finally conquering this one with a B-class car.

Go me!

Congratulations man 👍

subaru all the way. was very easy in the end. hold back at start of race to get a gap infront then boost it hard for one flying lap then sit out the time. worked every time.

Using the nitro upgrade (which I always ignore for actual racing) helps quite a bit if you want to stay in B-Class to beat him,

However, a works converted 918 Spyder was my weapon of choice when I did the Time Attack World Champioonship for the first time. Rado came in last :D

some rivals can be easily beaten if you will take really powerful car (if there is no limit in PI). Rival's PI is fixed while other bots depend on your car's PI. So, you can take powerful car and some Rivals will always come in tail of crowd. So even you are 3rd - you will always win. Probably 4th-10th also will win - i didn't try.

Just checked Time Attack: there is no PI limitation. Only car has to be "Road" version.
So, you can take Veyron or McLaren F1 and you will easily win this event.

I think I beat him with a LP640 with some upgrades on my PC.

Now I'm restarting on PS3 I will need to wait for PSN to be up again to get the car.

I beat him with my R35 works converted. Finished 2,1,1,1 :D although some would say I was illegally blocking on the second race ;).
I am using a PS3 and I believe it was set on hard, not sure if that really changes much though.

Bugatti work converted here... Rado came last every single race.. \o/

Catalunya: 01:10:372 1st place
Glendale: 00:50:217 1st place
Suzuka: 01:09:970 1st place
Donington: 01:00:863 1st place

It's easy to beat those times since I kinda suck in driving :dopey:

As you've learned, you can use any car you want. The Tc is A1900 or something real high, so big congrats on using a B class car! I don't think I could do that, but I might give it a shot and see how well I do.

Mint Juleps, definitely not my favorite, but it's a Derby drink isn't it? I've never been to the Derby, only the Steeplechase in Nashville. Either way, I prefer the bourbon poured right in the glass with nothing else getting in the way and taking up space. 👍

Thanks, I guarantee you if I can do it, so can about anybody else! But, it's a grind, and I stubbornly tried it over and over again because I thought it required a B-class car! I put in a lot of track time on those tracks in several different cars, and found out the R35 with a modified T-12 tune ( @ T-12!) is a very good B-class car. I could always win the first one at Catalunya, could only get 2nd to Rado at Glendale. I couldn't seem to beat him at Donington (4th race), so I had to win at Suzuka (3rd race). I was very close a number of times and finally got a win there. Rado always either won or finished 2nd.

Yes, mint juleps are the "official" Derby drink, but I don't think they're very good. Like you, I prefer my bourbon either on the rocks or with water.
So, are you from Nashville?

Holy crap.., I'm glad I read this post. I have been having one hell of a time with this event. I thought you had to use a B class vehicle! I've been using a B class Vette with a few upgrades (not anywhere near works conversion).., and I've almost completed this entire series with this Vette.., but DAMN it has been hell chasing that little S.O.B down.

Glad to know I can use another vehicle. To be honest.., at one point.., I found myself thinking.., WTF were they thinking with this event and how in the hell are you supposed to catch that annoying twerp.

I think all I have left is the last set of races to complete this event.., but no way in hell am I going back in with that Vette now :sly: Hell I might even go back in and re-race the ones I already won just to wipe that track with that punk--just for sheer pleasure.

Well I used the Veyron and got 2nd every race and he always won so its not that easy. I tried the Zonda Cinque Roadster and that didn't do anything either.

I used my works converted R32 Skyline. I had to tweek the settings a little to improve handling (increased downforce a bit, more so upfront, decreased tire pressure slightly in front tires, etc).

After that it was no trouble. Beat him in the first 3 races by a significant margin, and he beat me by about half a second on the fourth race.

I hate that guy so much, and i hate his stupid little scion. He's such a tool, or at least appears so in his little video intro.

Used a works 918. Rado finished the series at 4 or 5th.

Edit: And you know what's annoying? This car cannot be used in Modern A events, making it little more than a glorified trophy.

Just ram rado out of the race every race, and use car reset, i know its pretty cheap, and I havent done it yet, but it helped me win the Bugatti v Gumpert race

I cant believe it. I beat all those times today in a works specced Murcie - and I only won Donington!!! Finished 5th overall cause the other opponents in their Veyrons, Huayras etc were so fast! I didnt know I had to finish 3rd to get Rados car, I thought you just had to beat Rado... which I did, by a significant amount of points.

Sigh. So another round...

Yes, I saw someone post that in order to win the rival's car, you have to beat him and get a podium finish. But, you can tie him, which is what I did.
