Chrome Paint Ratio? Is there really one?

Other threads have identified the ratio of chrome paint to be awarded 1 of 300 car purchases while matte is 1 of 30. I now have 610 cars and have been awarded 1 chrome paint. I am wondering if it is completely random or if there actually is a rate these types of paint are awarded? If you have been awarded two or more, what is your ratio?

Completely random.

You can control it by exiting and restarting until you get chrome though. Search the forums for the instructions because I'm too lazy to type them out.

I have a few hundred paints and 0 chromes. I have a colour shifting though!

No exiting tricks, just lucky I guess.

I have 20 total, one was reward to me, 3 was from the exploit and the rest from trade.

I never get any and have a garage approaching 450 cars. I have even used the paint exit trick a few times and still have never gotten it. I have 11 right now and that is only because I traded and dupe them now.

Interesting...I would rather spend time racing than the restart exploit. I'm not desperate for any I am just curious to see how this was determined by PD.

I'm over 500 cars owned, but 0 chrome paint chips. I figured they were random. Darn it.
