Chrome Paints

Does anyone know how to get chrome paints. All of my cars are starting to look a bit dull and I want to liven them up a little.

Well, you could trade for a couple units or cross your fingers on every 30th car.

As Technicolors stated accurately yes, you have to either win them after 30 cars or trade for them. Like most Mattes, you cannot get Chromes from any car and they are only given as a award randomly (mattes and chromes) for adding 30 more cars to your garage.

The easiest way to get them is to head over to the Marketplace and ask for some (of course you will have to offer something in return such as a car, ticket, 5 paints, a set of gear, 5 museum card or 5 horns)

When you say win them after 30 cars, how exactly? Do you win a car from an event in chrome and get the chip? Or as the loggin bonus? Have received an orange chrome chip as one of the ten paints that way, but never won a chrome car, yet.

For every 30 cars that you add to your garage, the game gives you a bonus paint chip, in addition to the usual horn for every 10 cars. This paint is a special chrome paint (Silver or Gold) or a Matte color that you cannot get anywhere else.

Chrome Orange Metallic is just a name and not considered one of the special chrome paints.

If you wanna spend some cash, the GTPaint DLC has a bunch of chrome paints, but otherwise its just luck.

In my opinion, the Matte paints look better on most cars than the chromes, so you're really not unlucky.
