Add One More to the Party: The Chrysler 200C Concept

Not much to really talk about, but you can read more here. My best guess is that this will be approved for production, and will likely replace the horribly done Sebring altogether.

That 200C looks damn good from that angle. Dunno about the rear but the nose and side profile is about perfect...

Perhaps Detroit won't go under after all.

Being Dutch and going to Hope, I think I'm required to say that that orange thing is awesome. Hopefully there's a market that this car can get into and compete in.

If Chrysler can pull off those EVs and things, then my opinion about them will change quite a bit. They could probably do pretty well by offering a lot more vehicles with that system, unlike GM which is only trying to have two for now. Can we just have good interiors in these things?

I'm wondering what Dodge will do with that 200C. Last I heard they were looking to partner with some other brand to use an existing platform for the new Sebring. And given the numbering, I don't think this'll be the new 300. The prospect of rear drive is interesting too. I'd like to see this be the new Sebring in FWD form, and do a bit of what GM is toying with and offer the car in Dodge form in rear drive... Unless they just want to have FWD sedans and RWD coupes.

If all these things can be pulled off, then Detroit may be well on it's way to becoming the leaders of innovation in the car world that they once were. Ad I'm assuming they're learned their lesson.

The 200C could work as a normal car, too. I'd like to see petrol, diesel, and electric engines in there. I like the way it looks.

Why exactly didn't Dodge just have Lotus build them a sports car rather than fretting around with the Chinese? Likewise, why didn't Lotus just sell off the Europa to Dodge? Seriously, that looks perfect as a Dodge.

Perhaps Detroit won't go under after all.

Lets hope you're right. I don't know whether the big three were going this way anyway, but the threat of meltdown has done a great job of spurring them on to make some pretty damn nice cars.
