absolute love! Always fun to drive in it with any car be it fast or slow.
Best way to enjoy it is right before dawn, watching the breathtaking sunrise while crossing the finish line.. <3

Sorry, was at work, which unfortunetley isn't racing cars,

No I didn't participate in Le Mans( apart from racing on the Alain Prost Kart track beside the circuit:D)
I meant get into as in being a fan of something but looking back on the original post I can see that there were a couple of ways to read it.

Almost there with Nurburgring, racing it while at night while raining is a blast, just wish I had some racing Porsches to drive them around!

In the Le Mans / Audi 2008 documentary "Truth in 24", Alan McNish gives a great corner by corner break down of the track while you follow in-car video.

After playing GT5, I've noticed what appears to be a huge difference in track condition. GT5's Sarthe circuit is amazingly bumpy, especially on the straight, while the actual in-car video doesn't show anything of the severity of what you experience in GT5.

I can't believe the ACO would allow such real-life conditions while being so particular about all their other regulations. Imagine an R10 hitting those bumps at 220 mph for 24 hrs without falling apart, or flying off the track. They did shave that big hill down quite a bit after the Mercedes cars went airborne several years ago.
Probably because they filmed that segment in a van, you can see the shadow.

I love the track, especially in a 787B, absolutely brilliant.

Just hosted online a JGTC Free Run server on Le Sarthe 2005. I definitely prefer this version.

Unfortunately, nobody joined the server in the hour it was up, except some dude trying to muscle me off the track in his Scuderia (and failing), but I still had an amazing time there with my YellowHat GTR. This car is amazing, even from cockpit view.

Personally, Nurburgring > de la Sarthe. But it's still my second favorite real track. XD

I like it.
It's not my favorite but it's ok.

It's a hame they didn't include teh rest of the Race track as a variation

Believe me, the track is bumpy.
I visit Le Mans every year since 1997 and I have driven the mulsanne straight lot's of times for real.

It's not my favorite track, but I won't mind doing the 24hr race once.

But to go from lvl 35 -> 40 could require doing the track 5-6 times.... that's insane!

However I love the Nürburgring, and I've done the 24hr race on GT4 a number of times. I'm just going to hate driving the 24hrs of Le Mans multiple times to get to the Nürburgring 24hr.

My love for La Sarthe started when I went to the actual 24hr event in 2007. I'm contemplating going again this year. Always liked the track and played some PC mods with it but never was too crazy about it in races. Monza was another track that I felt this way (unless I was in an F1 car though) but now I really really dig La Sarthe. Played it a ton in Forza and have played it a lot so far with GT5. With super cars the old non-chicane layout but otherwise I'd add the chicanes. Something about topping out the super cars/race cars and keeping them in control at those speeds is just awesome.

its a fun track but GRID makes you race it all the time takes like 20min with night time transition and full damage. its fun until the AI wrecks you and you have to keep backtracking (rewind).

The 2.5 mile Bugatti Circuit would be nice to have, as a fun track to run in other games.

Attending a 24 hour endurance race at Sarthe would be incredible. To all these people who attend Sarthe races...where on the track were you spectating?

I love Le Sarthe, it's the best version in an racing game . I never tire of it and being able to race with day/night cycle and variable weather is fantastic.

Technically you're supposed to stay in the main spectator areas as most of the track is blocked off. It's only about 1/4 of the track all by the pits. The inside of the track is called the Village and at night time is pretty sweet. They have events, "bars", music, food, etc all night long. The Grand Marnier Crepes made by professional chefs at like 1AM was pretty sweet too :)
People go all over though, and photographers with certain passes can go to a lot more places as I was told. They don't really yell at you for being in a 'non-spectator area' (not including private areas and pit areas), I honestly think they were more strict about non-campers going into the camp grounds. I wasn't told anything when I walked from Ford Chicane towards Porsche Curves but didn't make it all the way (bunch of track and natural barriers blocked us, but seeing glowing brake disks right before the pits was awesome). I broke night on the last inside curve of the last esses before the Mulsane Straight right after the Dunlop tire/chicane. This was my view from about 2ish AM to about 8ish AM

I was dead tired after all the travel to get there, being up for almost the entire time, drinking the night away, etc but it was all worth it and I want to go back again. The track I think has more Brits than French lol. It was a great experience though. No ALMS event I've been to comes close (I might go to 12Hrs of Sebring this year). My fiancee's brother has been going every year to 24Hr LeMans since 2005 I believe. He told me during the week they have all these events, the parade where the drivers walk around and greet everyone, and historic races as well, all in the town of Le Mans or at the track. The sounds though are would stood out the most. The sounds of a C6R flying by you on the straights.... man... no game ever reproduced the shear amount of balls that car sounded like.

Wish I'd have been on then, that would have been fun, without the unfriendly driver.

I really enjoy the 2005 (No Chicanes) version most of all. Because of the lack of runoff strips and extra paving that is present in the 2009 version it just feels more authentic. That and it's harder to cut the corners :).
