Can someone please tell me if it is quicker to drive in the center or outside of the road on circuit de la sarthe? i want to try and shorten my lap times on la festa cavallino so i don't need to grind for as long. Thanks:tup:

Hmm, just max out an Enzo or 458 Italia, cut all corners and chicanes and you could break the 3 minute mark, but the fastest average time will probably be closer to 3mins PLUS.

I doubt you'll get much faster than 3 mins, by driving on one side of the track or the other, that it will make that much difference. 👍

In real life, race drivers usually pick either side of the road (@ La Sarthe) and not the middle since being in the centre lane would scrape the underside of the cars which can prove disastrous for a 24 hour race. In the game, this doesn't apply. What you need to be concern is how you should approach the turns and chicanes. As always start from the outside as you enter the turn and aim for the apex.

The best guide to driving on Circuit de la Sarthe is via Allan McNish (with an accompanying onboard video of Audi R10):

I prefer left or right side of the road. Try not to run the center as the street is crowned.

Max a 599, up the transmission top speed, draft, cut all the chicanes. I just sort of drive wherever. I never saw a difference.

Unless you weave madly on the straight and scrub your speed no matter how you drive down there you're going to take pretty much the same amount of time.

In offline you can just cut through every corner without penalties, my favorite feature :)

Any orientation will do on the Mulsanne Straight. As long as you follow the proper driving line (left to right on first chicane, right to left on second chicane), it shouldn't impact speed and acceleration 👍 And since you're grinding, go ahead and cut the chicanes. No one will blame you except the AI :sly:
