I revisited this track, after finding out about the corner radius settings, and fit the turns to the map better, and managed to get it up to 4.01 miles, only about 200 feet short.

Buttonwillow (real)

I found this track browsing the satellite track maps, it looked cool. So a couple of things. I don't really know the length of this configuration. Buttonwillow says their "combined" course is 3.1 miles, but I can't find which track configuration that is. I chose their "Race #1" configuration which looked like the longest. The default front straight is a little too long, so I had to modify the first and last corners to get similar corner characteristics of the real course.

I've raced the AI in the WSR 1983 F3 detuned to simulate a Skip Barber Formula 2000 car. Upping the weight to 1250 lbs, reducing the power to 150 bhp, reducing downforce to the minimums, and running on Sports Medium tires. It was a lot of fun, and I didn't win (spun twice, came in 4th).

This is a cool track, with lots of opportunities to pass. If you've driven the real track, please let me know how my replica compares.
