Hey. Today I bought a Cisco Linksys E1000 Router for $60.00. Now it is wireless, but my problem is that when I try to establish an internet connection for use on my PS3, I get the slightly infamous "DNS Error (80710102)
I tried this by just taking the router, plugging it in, and inserting an etherent cable from my PS3 to the router.

Am I doing anything wrong? I tried both wired and wireless connections, and I always get a DNS error. What's wrong with the connection?

Read through this. Your answer is likely in there somewhere. It's been too long since I've had to mess with any of this for me to remember what I ended up doing to get it working, but I know I had issues, too.

I already read that. Didn't help me one bit. I'm trying to get a computer-genius friend to help me but he hasn't responded back. Anyone?

It has been a while but I think I had a similar issue in the past. Mine was related to the Media Server connection. It would start looking for media server and then kick the PS3 offline. If you do not stream music or videos from a PC to your PS3 then just turn the Media Server connection off. Also, for your own good, if you are using wireless then make sure you secure your connection. If you are not using wireless then just turn it off.

Give me a few months and i could propbably fix it for you im doing a cisco course at school, have you tried there website?

Are you planning on picking up a new router? If so, I'd highly recommend a WRT54GL + Tomato.

I'm not sure yet. I really don't have all the money anymore.

I tried the website, but my computer has problems running sites like Google, Bing, and I guess Cisco.
