Citroen using PD as design studio?

It's the other way round, the GT incorporated styling cues from the new design language of Citroen and took it to extremes.

I don't think the GT was designed by PD, but by the styling department of Citroen who already signed of the DS3 and new C3, etc. a few years ahead of developing the GT, as an entirely new car takes a few years to develop unlike a concept car like the GT which could be created in months.

It's all PR, maybe Citroen would like you to believe their new cars looked a bit like the GT.;)

I would have thought that its more a continuation of where citroen is heading. Its not bad looking either. I expect most new citroens to follow this new style, it seems quite popular and 'German'.

Look at Audi, since "iRobot concept car" all the cars have had the familiar nose.
Volkswagon, is there really that much difference between Polo & Golf.
Ford, same again, in the UK, the Mondeo, Focus, Fiesta & Ka are all quite similar designs, just different sizes.

That's what is called a corporate look, or design language, whereby all cars from a single brand are easily recognisable.
I also like the new Citroen look, especially the new C5, C6 and the new C3 Picasso.
The Audi you're describing was based on the forthcoming R8 and was also created for PR just like the GT but for a movie instead of a game.
Although it was created for PR, at least they were creative in offering the GT as a driveable car in a game, instead of just traveling around to the next international car show.

@ analog

nope, some guy from japan who knows KY gave him project and KY contacted with Citroen probably by chance.

This guy isn't from PD studio. PD and KY only promoted him ...

Here's the full story according to wiki; the Japanese guy was working at Citroen ;)

"The car's exterior design was made by Takumi Yamamoto, a Japanese designer from Jean-Pierre Ploué's Style Citroën design team. Takumi Yamamoto was a childhood friend of Kazunori Yamauchi, director of Polyphony Digital and creator of the popular Gran Turismo franchise, also known as "GT". According to a Yamauchi interview at the Paris Motor Show 2008[2], he and Yamamoto started collaborating on this project back in 2003. A press release published on the North American Gran Turismo official website describes the Citroën and Polyphony Digital collaboration as a « a joint effort first talked about at the Geneva Motor Show past March [2008] »[3]. Yamamoto convinced Jean-Pierre Ploué to submit his concept to Citroën's head office in Paris who agreed to start the production process and manufacture the real car. The concept car's rear was carefully designed to fit what the gamers will actually see in the game since it is the more powerful featured vehicle, argues Yamamoto".

So i was wrong about it just being PR, it's also a story of friendship....aaah

Citroen to me are just like the other two major French manufacturers, Renault and Peugeot. They all rarely produce any fun cars, instead settling with these boring family hatchbacks that are going to end up in the hands of someone with at least 5 ASBOs in 10 years time. The Citroen GT is a nice break from this boring tradition. Now all I want is for them to mass-produce a 4WD Citroen C4 based on their rally car.

Boring tradition?
Well i agree with some of your statement for perhaps the last 20 or so years in general, but Renault has recently produced some very exciting hot hatches and how about that mid-engined 80's 5 Turbo ( and the Alpine-Renaults).
Citroens were never to everyone's tastes ( and that's a good point in my book ) but were always interesting until the early nineties, and they produced one of my all time favourite cars ever, the SM ( with a Maserati V6 engine ).
Peugeot seem to have lost the plot stylingwise in recent years but they also created truly interesting cars ( 205 Turbo 16, 504 Coupe amongst others, they even won Le Mans last year with the 908 HDI)
And there are probably countless other cars i can't think of right now.
