Hi guys...

I´m currently tunning a civic spoon ek (type-r) and i would like to know if it stays better NA or Turbo..:indiff:

Tell me your opinion...(sorry for bad english..im portuguese):sly:

turbo deffinetly, more power but if the gears arenot tuned well it may be on full poweer for less time. all depends on what type of racing you are going to do with it.

and dont be sorry about your english, it is very good( you must have actually paid attention in english class, unlike me).
 
It's better with NA. Turbo takes time to spool up, and when it does, there will be wheelspin. in the tuning sub-forum you can find a thread that has plenty of good setups for Spoon Civic Type R.
 
I have to different opinions.. i need some more opinions to choose...because a want the car for good accelaration and good high speed too....

im a lit bit confuse in my choice(im a noob in tunning)
 
leo is a very good source of tuning reomendations as he seems to have been doing it for a while and understands what needs to be done. i would go against my senses if he and some of the other greats in this site said so.
 
It depends. Mostly on the tyres and partly on the track. If you're going to use Sports tyres and/or the track has 2nd gear corners you'll probably want to go with NA tuning as it gives you a more predictable increase in power to prevent wheelspin. If you're going to use Racing tyres and the track doesn't necessitate pulling out of slow corners the turbo is a safe option. If you have any fear of wheelspin go with NA tuning.
 
I've found that although a turbo will give you a higher power output, the powerband is narrower; whereas in the NA tuning, the powerband is wider, thus making it apply better power through the whole acceleration.

Spoon is lighter and has less torque.

But it revs to 11,000 rpm. Personally, I'll use an Integra or Accord... Just not a Civic.
 
go for NA.., it has better response than turbo.., turbo has lag,. not ideal for technical tracks.., 👍

i could give you a (still experimental) setup for the Spoon Civic EK9, but this thread should be moved to the GT4 Car Tuning and Settings Sub-Forum, IF we are going to talk about car setups.., :D:tup:
 
NA tuning is the way to go IMO. But it depends on your circumstances as Greycap said. If the normal EK Civic has more torque I'd go the normal one.
 
What? I've never tested that car, can someone tell me if that's even possible in the low powered Civic?
 
I used the special SPOON civicfully tunned with NOS...and i made some modifications in the car...and by the way...its Km/h not Mph..
 
I know but still, that car's like what, 300hp? And that's quite a decent speed. I suppose, it will probably get a NOS rating of 100 will it? That's enough to blow it apart in my opinion and the only reason the WRX Spec C gets such fast times down the 1/4.
 
That's OK, I'll believe you. You'll get along well with =drifting24/7= seeing as you both love Civics so much ;)
 
Another advantage of the Spoon Civic is the very low weight. Even if it doesn't feel as fast, in terms of laptimes, it is one of the fastest and most agile front wheel drive cars in GT4.

I'd also recommend N/A tuning by the way. The lack of tourque compared to a turbo is balanced by a wider usable rev range and smoother engine characteristics, which are quite important in a FWD car. Sometimes, power just isn't everything.

There is no Spoon Prelude.

If you mean the Spoon Integra, then its slightly more powerful than the Civic. No idea on top speed and acceleration, never tested them back to back.
 
I've been testing these two lately for my own reasons and I'm convinced the Integra is the better car of the two.
Yes the Integra is heavier and only slightly more powerful but it also has a much faster transmission, much better traction, and overall handling is better as well.

I'd suggest going with the Spoon Integra over the Spoon Civic.

In real-life, the engine is either bored/stroked or swapped and built, tires are wider, interior is semi-stripped, new chassis underbraces, Spoon transmission ratios and final drive, lowered with new dampers, and brakes. That's off the top of my head, but there were many more less significant changes.
 
Judging by the operating RPM of the Spoon in GT4, I'd say that they probably bored and then DESTROKED the motor.
 
i'm gonna have to agree with N4HS.., in real life, that NOS setting is enough for you to blow up that oh-so-great B16B VTEC engine when you reach over 300kph.., see?? the NA is great.., the Spoon Civic already has a huge time loss when changing gears, fitting in a turbo with lag, it only increases the time loss, not to mention wheelspin also.., that time loss could cost you split seconds or even whole seconds on a technical track, especially a touge.., :rolleyes: so, interested in my setup?? just PM me.., :D:tup:

@the Interceptor - actually, because of its super low weight, it tends to understeer a lot, the tires don't grip the road because of lack of weight.., sure it's fast, but when it comes to corners, you'll have to be one heck of a driver to tackle them..,

@Kent - i agree, the Spoon Integra is better than the Spoon Civic in almost all aspects.., but still, i love Civics.., :sly:
 
there is something i can do do reduce time loss betwen changing gears??without sacrifice speed and aceleration...
