So I was goofing around with my hatchback the other day and set what I think Is a pretty good lap time after doing some tuning. I was wondering if anybody was up to the challenge of throwing down a faster lap time then me.:sly:

The car I used was a 93' Honda Civic SIR-II(EG) :)

It is fully modified with all the best parts you can purchase. However I did not use any NA Tuning or a Turbocharger on this car limiting its power to around 205 hp. I also did not use any Nitrous or a wing to make downforce. The lap time was set using R3 Medium Race Tires. Other than that I used Suspension, Brake, Transmission, etc. tuning to acheive my fast lap.

The track is Infinion Raceway ( Stock Car Course ) and I would like to say that please don't cut course or cheat. Just a fair sporting time!

The lap time to beat is 1'20.9:nervous:

(If the time is beat feel free to post your set up if you like, because I would be curious as to what and how you tuned the car.):ouch:

EDIT: There was a new fast time by Leonidae of 1'20.403. However now that someone bested my time I went back to hope to regain my fast time. After ten minutes all I was able to knock it down to was 1'20.635. Then I hit a good couple of laps and put down a 1'20.372:sly: , but I hope no one can best that time or I might be in trouble.:dunce:

well, I think I have that particular car.. I'll see what I can do about it after school. I've beaten more powerful cars with civic that had stock engine, 177bhp after oil change, and opponents were Alfa Romeos etc.

I managed to pull 1'25.150 with stock tranny and no other powermods than oilchange, resulting 177bhp. otherwise it has all best parts, no wing nor nos and R3's. now I'll start adding powermods, and see if I can beat you without 205 bhp ;)

edit: 1'20.403

not big improvement, but still.

I'm going to go give this a shot right now... I'll edit this post when I'm done.

I'm pretty good at setting up cars.

My first post ...i wanna get into trying some of these challenges for fun ...def looks like fun ..i had played gt4 for a few months but my old ps2 took a dump ,im picking up a used slim version for 80$ today and il be back at Gt4 in no time !!

GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY!👍

I believe I'm able to improve my time slightly, buy not much. as soon as I get few key corners right, the pole position will be mine. :trouble:

but that has to wait for a while, since my Stig is driving Nurb 24 hours.

well i tried it and it was 1'19'15... it is a honda civik race car... wif 355hp
not fully mod...

ummm... civik race car? Did you use an eg from the used car lots? or is it the civic ef from the honda classic car lineup? or the EK from the honda new car lineup? just checking...

if it's a racecar, it is the wrong car. the correct car is roadcar, and has around 205hp, more or less. read the first post with care.

Hope you guys dont mind if I join this little competition. I bought myself a 93' Honda Civic SIR-II(EG) and pulled off a 1'20.20 with 199hp.

I have to say guys that this does not look like a tuning challange to me, I'm yet to see any actual set-ups discussed at all.

The only discussion so far has revolved around the car, gtrack and lap times, which would make this a Spot race.

Unless it changes to include some serious discussion on how these laps have been achieved, what techniques and set-up have been used, pros and cons of different approaches, etc. Then I will have no choice but to move the thread to the correct sub-forum.

Don't get me wrong I have no problem with the thread itself at all, I just needs to go in the correct place, so just let me know is it a tuning challenge (in which case some tuning needs to be discussed) or is it a spot race.

Regards

allright, these are my suspension settings, they're vital in this car. they can be applied on other civics too, they work pretty well in those. but the key for good cornering is 1.5 LSD.

SR: 5.0/5.0
RH: 110/125
damper B: 2/4
damper RB: 2/4
camber: 3.0/2.0
toe: 0/0
stabilizer 3/3

I also noticed that if I want to lower my time, I had to put either more power or get better tyres. 1'20.xxx is quite near the limit what this car can do within these limits.

When you say NA, do you mean NA tune up or no turbo.

yeah, but read the first post properly:

205 hp and R3 tyres..

Interesting. I already have a 209hp EG6, but it's on S3s. Guess maybe I'll fire up the PS2, slap some R3s on and try a few laps at Infineon. I'll post my settings, too. Then again, I might need to change them to suit the different tires.

ok i tried again with r3 tires and i detuned the engine (199 hp), i used Leonidae's suspension set-up and i hit the track.....2.23.735! :yuck: :yuck:

what is wrong with me!??? i'd like to reach at least 1.21! :indiff:

help.....:nervous:

You need to either:

1. Practice more with Leonidae's setup until your driving style fully adapts to it. Two or three laps won't cut it. The setup was configured for someone else's driving style, so in this case you'll have to drive it and get used to it.
Or...
2. Develop your own setup tailored to your specific driving style. Drive the car with stock settings, decide how you want the car to change, and adjust your settings accordingly. Use a tuning guide if you have to.
