Civic Type R (EK) 1997 has a broken e-brake?

Im sorry if this is true on the real car, as I had no idea. In this Civic, I can accelerate while e-braking. It is a slowed acceleration, but still about 2-4 miles per hour per second. It enabled me to have skid marks following my car without smoke (like when Clarkson challenged Captain Slow to the skid mark competition in america). Im pretty sure this isn't right because im pretty sure e-brakes are meant to keep the wheels from spinning, thus the car slides toa stop. Glitch or real, im pretty sure this could help someone in someway drifting or turning or something.

Its front wheel drive, the e brake locks up the rears, so that it can still drive.

The Civic is FRONT wheel drive. The handbrakes work on the REAR wheels. Hope this helps
