Uhhhh... You're being a little too defensive for no reason...
nobody's actually ripped into it in this thread, except for the somewhat silly roof scoop. :ouch: Which is actually probably functional, as they did say there was no AC.

Chill, man. :)

I've with-held comment so far because this isn't officially in production, yet... but it's nice to see Honda hasn't lost its edge in making engines... though longevity might be a problem... but who knows? Honda's K20 is proving to be a great block.

The only disappointment is that they still haven't switched back to hydraulic steering for this model... despite the fact that it's available on lower Civic models, and would help cure the artificial feedback problem the new Civic suffers from...

If that was a stripped out Golf or Focus (maybe to be production) with 260bhp - no doubt it would be the best thing since sliced bread

It's not the Civic I dislike so much as the Euro Civic.

I like the Si Coupe better.

Barryl85, you and I usually share the same views. I usually tell people that I admire Honda for all they do. People will just immediately think "rice" in regards to most Hondas. The trend nowadays is drifting- something you cannot do with a Civic unless you convert it to rear-wheel drive and give it an overall better chassis and suspension setup. I'm not really scared or feeling like I have diahrrea(?) by seeing that on the car. In the end, a Honda is a Honda is a Honda.

I don't hate the Civic at all. I usually say that the truest "hot hatch" is the mid-engined/RWD Renault Clio. Why it? It is because the car has great handling and performance. Almost like a sports car in a hatchback's body. Does it mean I despise anything of Honda or any other Japanese make? Not at all. I don't play the nationality card on cars. I just think there's nothing like a mid-engined Clio. In fact, the mid-engined Clio and Focus RS can not only battle themselves for best in Europe, but even best in the world. This Civic will just make things... interesting.

They'd have to be pretty stripped out... The new Focus is so damn heavy that I have a love-hate relationship with it. Love it when it's handling well in long corners, hate it when it starts to understeer in tight ones due to all that weight... :ouch:

Thats a very good point, but in my opinion a true hatchback is FWD

Yeah having a 2.4 ltr lump from a volvo cant help much for the understeer either!
