Looks like i'll be forced to used chamonix, i can't get the stupid AMG challenges to work for me, the car is simply not powerful enough to do the set times:mad:

Yep, I'm having the same problem. I'm about 1 second out on the gold. It's infuriating because I can't find that "1" second. >___>
 
I was on the last challenge yesterday, doing a great run (I'd say about 5 seconds ahead of Gold time), when the power suddenly cut out. Haven't had the chance to redo it since :indiff:

I done it last night and it took me a few tries but i managed each section with time to spare. I don't use any driving aids apart from ABS set to 1.

One thing i did notice though....you can cut corners to make up some time. Good luck fellas.

I'm using all aids and cutting corners and still coming up 2/3 seconds short:tdown:

I think you'd be faster with all aids off, save ABS at 1, like Lee used. You can get a bit closer to the limit without ESP and TCS. :)
 
C'mon guys, I did those challenges as soon as they were available, and my first clean runs were a few seconds under the required times :p
 
Yeah, using driving aids kills the speed of the cars. Just learn to feather the power to avoid spinning. I'm also a lot faster using manual gears as some of the gears the game suggests are 1 lower than needed for some corners so you hit the rev limiter and knock a bit of speed off.

If there were an easier method, like the old PS1/PS2 days of just sending each other our saves, I wouldn't mind at all. As is... there's a small chance I'll be there next summer, if you don't mind the wait :sly:

If you're running on the DS3 and use manual, I'd also suggest staying a gear or even two higher when getting into the tighter turns, to make throttle feathering easier. You can hit full throttle pretty comfortably that way, and the SLS has got a fair slug of torque down low, so it hardly hurts. Also, I'm sure there's Youtube videos of the runs out there!

I think the car your are using is a 300SL in that event. They only allow you to drive the SLS in the Intermediate level.

I just can't achieve gold on the 'whole lap' one!
(But then, I am wasting all of my time on the 2013 Special Edition Seasonal. :p)

Forget that bit about shifting early, then; you'll need to wring every last bit of pony-power out of the old girl! :D

It's funny, I've completed all the other AMG events fairly easily. I think I got all golds in the rain events on my first or second tries (did both full lap ones on my first try, at least). For some reason though, I'm just really, really bad with low power cars. The beginner full lap is the last one I need to get, before I have all golds (except for Lambo @ Toscana special event and Nür 24h)

Alot of great entries so far I must say. I personaly went for the slightly obvious rally car at Chamonix-alternative. :crazy: Hoping it wont come back and bite me. :P

Uh... hate to burst your bubble there [Nor]MclarenF1, but the car either needs to be Green or Red as the theme rules state.

Right, I'm giving this one stage one last try. I've done it fifty odd times now, and it seems almost impossible. I'm on a wheel, cutting corners, braking late, oversteering, everything I possible can to get round a corner faster. It's just not happening, but I shall remain determined. I won't let this game beat me. :grumpy:

If I don't unlock the photo travel location, I'm just going to shoot some on track photos.

You can do it! let it all hang out. Try to minimise the driftingthough as it isn't always the fasted way to take a corner. good luck 👍
