Is there no way to counter this at all?

Hmm... Plug-ins, I suppose, but you could do it in the way DigitalBaka so kindly linked to (!) if you really want to add that effect.

I guess people are getting increasingly... creative with the theme. I recommend a re-read of the OP for some... :)

I know there's some good shots here but the OP saids "share the same name plate" and NOT evolution of the original cars... I Just want to point that out.

If they share the same name plate, then they are almost always evolution of the original cars. The Lancer Evolution X evolved (heh) from the original Lancer, the new Camaro evolved from the '69 one, the SL 55 has evolved from the 300 SL (I don't classify the new 500, GT or Mini as evolutions of the originals, since there really wasn't any, but they do still share the same name plates).

What I think SlipZtrEm was referring to were cars whose bloodlines weren't so readily apparent. There isn't really any connection between the Europa and the Evora, or the F1 and the MP4-12C – the former especially so as there already is a new Lotus Europa.

I'm sorry I singled some of you out, but I'm just trying to help.

Yeah I realised my mistake well before, but couldn't be bothered to change it :p . I will do so when I find time.

EDIT: Changed it (hopefully it's valid now 👍)

Another quick question, how do i remove the lines that appear from the headlights when the headlights are facing the camera? I cant remember what its called.

Flare? I haven't tried to so I have no idea how, sorry.

Yeah i think thats what its called, i tried using burn/dodge to dim it down but it just affects the portion of car behind the lines as if its a separate layer.

I won't be able to enter this week after all. :(

Also headlight flares are really hard to remove effectively. I don't know why GT5 even features them as an effect; they just look ridiculous.

As Mog said those flares are very difficult to remove. There is no quick fix (that I know of) - it can be done but I would say it's not worth the effort. Your best option is to try to capture the shot in a way that eliminates or at least minimises the flare in the first place. Sometimes just a small adjustment of the angle you are shooting at makes a huge difference to the amount of flares given off.

Ok thanks anyway guys, if you look at 2 of the photos i just uploaded you'll see why im asking lol

ah bugger! Yeah you're right thanks for pointing that out and the compliment 👍 I think I'll stick with it for now as I'm not gonna have time to reshoot.

To be fair the 1st and 2nd generation Vipers ('92 - '02) are much closer in terms of design, while the 3rd and 4th generations ('03 - '10) are effectively a new car. I still can't believe I missed that line off the description though!

FINAL ENTRY

Big me!

The 200 series Celica...I had one for 5 years and loved it so much, felt so glad to see it chosen and taken so well.

Fido, can i please use it on my facebook as my cover photo when the comp finishes?

Some fantastic entries so far! Really glad the theme is going well :)

CF's use of the banner above the cars? Awesome 👍

I really like your shot, Richard: that last line was more an example than an outright not-allowed statement: while I agree the 3rd and 4th gen Vipers are different from 1 & 2, it doesn't show the drastic amount of evolution that other car pairings show. Heck, even the new 2013 car isn't that different from the others :p

Yeah it's like a modern Viper GTS & I'm glad it's like that, GTS is my favorite Viper, so in my opinion 2013 looks sick. I hope it comes in a DLC... I hope

FINAL ENTRY

Slipz, this is the car I had in mind before I asked you about whether are race cars OK
