Further explanation of theme, which is chosen by our Week 5 Runner-Up Shidapu:

A more open theme this week, Shidapu wants you to show him your best sunrise,
or sunset, images. Just find the right tracks!

CARS: any
LOCATIONS: any dusk or dawn tracks
UNIQUE RESTRICTIONS: see above

  • One entry per user. It must be your own work, and never previously used in a comp.
  • It is recommended you host your image on ImageShack, Photobucket, or Flickr.
  • Not sure how to post a thumbnail or preview image? Read this sticky!
  • Mark your FINAL ENTRY clearly, with red text.
  • You may change your entry once. Do it clearly; edit out your previous entry, and either
    post the change in a new reply, or in place of the original.
  • When submitting, use either a thumbnail or a preview image, linked to the full-sizer.
  • No full-size images posted in thread; your entry will be ignored.
  • A preview image is not only allowed, but encouraged! However, preview images can
    not exceed 500 pixels in either direction. This includes borders or drop shadow effects.
  • A preview image must be representative of the full-size image. Do not add effects to it.
  • Winner gets to choose the following week's theme, as well as the Top 20. Every fourth
    week, the poll will be H2H style: entries must choose a "team", and the best from each
    poll faces off in a final 48 hour poll.
  • Winners cannot enter in their own theme!

Allowed Photoshop Filters:
  • Blur
  • Distort -> Diffuse Glow
  • Noise
  • Render -> Lighting Effects
  • Sharpen
  • Other -> High Pass

(NOTE: No additional plug-ins for the above should be used)

What you may not do to a photo:
  • Alter the geometry of the car. No stickers, or body modifications not available in game.
  • Add shapes or objects from outside of GT5, signatures excepted.
  • Remove items from shot (scenery, other cars).
  • Use more than 1 image (HDR, photo-stitching, multi-exposure).

What you may do to a photo:
  • Scale or enlarge rims.
  • Remove or modify license plates.
  • Remove the GT watermark.
  • Add a personal signature.
  • Clean up or fix jaggies, texture pixelation, or colour separation.
  • Add a vignette effect.

This Week's News:

You'll notice some small detail changes in the rules: the bolded parts for the editing are new or modified rules, just to make it a bit clearer after the discussion from last week's comp.

Prizes this week:

Two 908 racers are up for grabs; one of each livery, one for the PMC winner, and one for the 2.0. And they won't be alone; runners-up this week get 5 special paint chips each (the matte and chrome prize-only ones). The winners do get the right to swap prizes with the runner-up if they so feel, though.

and... game on! :D

I've set up an online room at La Sarthe for this theme if anyone wants to use either a sunrise or sunset at Le Mans in their entry for this week. The room number is 1472-6118-3830-2746-1675 and the room name is "Le Mans Photoshoot".

EDIT: The session has turned into just a normal race session after I was disconnected.

How am I meant to take a sunrise or sunset picture when all it ever does is rain?

Damn, i got this really nice shot there with my Acura, but i'll rummage through and see what else i can find, or just take new ones.

Working on mine now, but chances of me winning aren't looking up, the way these pictures are turning out.

This pic is not edited with Photoshop. I actually made it during last week´s comp for the 2.0 Ferrari vs. Lamborghini theme.
