Further explanation of the theme, as described by zambuca:

"Well we were going to be using the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, but as this has already
been used at Rome before we've decided to change it. So now you'll be racing around Rome
in the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA 1600 '65 instead. :)"

This Thread has everything you need to know.
  • There must be at least some detail of the background (location) visible in the picture that
    can later be identified to be part of the location specified in the theme. If the location is
    not immediately clear from the picture you must provide the exact location if it's queried.
  • Only one entry per user allowed. It must be that user's own work and never used in another
    competition.
  • Do not ask other members to choose your entry.
  • Entry post must be marked with a FINAL ENTRY text.
  • Entries may only be changed once and it must be indicated clearly.
  • Entries must be posted in either thumbnail or a preview. We recommend you to link either
    to it's full size.
  • Posts containing bigger previews than allowed, full sizes or links only will be ignored.
  • Previews should not exceed the limit of 500px in either direction and have any effect not present
    in the original image.
  • It's recommended the usage of a free image hosting service, such as ImageShack, Photobucket
    or Flickr.
  • If you want your entry to have a link to your full sized image in the poll, make your preview
    a link to the full sized photo.
  • Only the Judge's favorite 15 entries will get through to the poll.
  • Keep in mind that the Host of this competition may ask for the original image and it must
    be submitted if so.
    It's recommended to store the original image (from the USB stick) until competition week ends.

What you may not to do a photo:
  • Alter the geometry of the car. No stickers, or body modifications not available in game.
  • Add shapes or objects from outside of GT5, signatures excepted.
  • Remove items from shot (scenery, other cars).
  • Use more than 1 image (HDR, photo-stitching, multi-exposure).
  • Add effects that make the picture look something other than a photograph.
What you may do to a photo:
  • Crop and/or resize an image.
  • Adjust the level or curve values.
  • Alter the colour tone of the image (gradient maps, photo filters, colour balance, etc).
  • Adjust brightness, contrast, exposure, shadow/highlights.
  • Enhance shadows or highlights (dodge and burn tools in Photoshop, for example).
  • Add noise and/or diffuse glow.
  • Add a post-game tilt-shift blur, or apply a motion blur to a stationary Photo Travel shot.
  • Make use of Layer Blend Modes.
  • Use a Sharpening filter and/or tool.
  • Scale or enlarge rims.
  • Remove or modify license plates.
  • Remove the GT watermark.
  • Add a personal signature.
  • Clean up or fix jaggies, texture pixelation, or colour separation.
  • Add a vignette effect.

In case anyone notices... yes we have had this Car/Track combo before (back in Week 40), but that's OK - it's a nice combination. ;)
 
WUT?!? Argh, I'm sorry about that! And it was even a 2.0 week too...

I will gladly change the theme - but I don't know if that's possible?

Yeah, I thought this sounded very similar... But on the upside, I already have a few entries that are ready... :p

I'd prefer some other theme if that would be okay, but that's just my two cents..

if this doesn't get changed, are we allowed to use do a different edit of the one we used last time? lol.
 
Theme still could be changed yet... watch this space... just waiting on a final decision.
 
Well, I'm all for removing my entry. The Giulia idea sounds good.
 
Right then - seems zambuca is offline for now I'll make an executive decision and change it.

New car for this theme is the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA 1600 '65 suggested by bmxmitch - which is a standard by the way - just in case anyone was thinking of the GIULIA TZ2 carrozzata da ZAGATO CN.AR750106 '65.

Apologies for any confusion.

Good morning everyone! (And good afternoon to some?)

I'm back online at the office. I'm really sorry for the bumpy start this competition had. First of all it somehow totally slipped through my radar that we've had this combo before. And second of all, I'm currently staying at the summer house, where there's no internet connection. So I'm relying on the satellites being in the right spots to even have 3G on my smart phone. Which means I'm not able to check the thread when I want :crazy:

I really think it would be silly to have the exact same combo as before, so I must apologize to those who already took the 8C for a ride. We will be using a vintage Alfa instead :)
 
Odd question but does anyone else think it looks a little like the Bentley Mulsanne recently in top gear? (more so the back):lol:
