iNs3CuRe was chosen as the Judge's Choice winner last week, and he decided that this week ought to be a Manipulation Week.

iNs3CuRe also scored the win in the public vote, and the theme he has selected is Livery Editor!

Further explanation of theme, which is chosen by Week 56 Winner, iNs3CuRe:

It's the feature we're all waiting for...

Let me explain, imo GT5 is missing a very good feature such as a livery editor, what I
want you participants to do is get your favorite car and create a livery that you would
do if we had the livery editor feature in GT5. Theres no restrictions as to whats on the
livery, so go crazy be creative and have fun while making in!

And remember... be creative and have fun!

  • Photoshop or another image editing program MUST be used.
  • Each entry must have some part from a Photomode picture from Gran Turismo 5.
  • One entry per user. It must be your own work, and never previously used in a comp.
  • It is recommended you host your image on ImageShack, Photobucket, or Flickr.
  • Not sure how to post a thumbnail or preview image? Read this sticky!
  • Mark your FINAL ENTRY clearly, with red text.
  • When submitting, use either a thumbnail or a preview image, linked to the full-sizer.
  • No full-size images posted in thread; your entry will be ignored.
  • A preview image is not only allowed, but encouraged! However, preview images can
not exceed 500 pixels in either direction. This includes borders or drop shadow effects.
  • Winner of the public vote gets to choose the theme for the following week.
  • Public vote winners also get to select the top 12 entries for the poll the following week.
  • When selecting the top 12 entries the following week, the theme chooser will also select a
"Judge's Choice" winner, the entry which they feel has best captured the theme.
  • The Judge's Choice winner gets to choose whether the following week will be either a
Graphics Week or a Manipulation Week.
  • A graphics week will be primarily graphic design and layout based, for example magazine
    covers, or movie posters.
  • A manipulation week will be primarily based on photo manipulation, for example creating
race cars in game, or making multi-car composites.
  • Winners cannot enter in their own theme!

Being a Photoshop competition, there are no limits on editing. Use every tool at your disposal to
create the desired effect. Feel free to utilise HDR techniques, photo stitching, whatever you like!
Your only real restriction is that you must use some part of a GT5 Photomode image!
The main thing to remember is to be creative and have fun!

Just to make sure that I understand right:
We have to create a special kind of paintwork that makes the car look like being part of a special company, club, or racing team?

You can do that, but the theme is to make your own paint job for a car so you can do even more. Sort of like this competition but with any car.

Just to clear things up, it doesnt have to be a race livery. It could be anything you like on the car. Could be anything from a professional race livery like this:

to something like this:

;) 👍

Another thing, if I do choose to create a race livery, can I also add other racing addenda on the car (roll cage, bodykits, the like)?

^ This. Wheels, wing, lighting all fair game here?

No Forza cheating either, i suppose. LOL

jk

Thank you, Fishy. What about you?
Hope to see a lot more legendary and stylish liveries…

Nah, I'll stay out of the PS competitions. I far too sunskilled to make an entry work. I have tried a couple times, but it just looks awful.

Great entry Raphaele, too bad other people dont like the theme :(

Like the theme, but don't know if I'll find time - Tourney entry will have to come first and we are experiencing continuing power cuts for the last couple of days due to heavy snow so PS3/Computer time has been severely hampered. Not even sure if I'll make any of the comps or even the Tournament if this keeps up. :(

I have an idea of what car to use, but not sure whether I should remake a racing livery or make my own...

i would say do both, then see which you like best.. o_O

Edit:

Final Entry

As a previous winner of the Tournament, Rev's Premium status has been returned for a year as I promised. So get those entries in, folks: that giant inbox isn't going to fill itself! :D

Hey Slip, mind slipping in a Premium one year membership for me? I've been meaning to purchase another year since the end of my membership in April. :sly:

I am feeling creative today with this week's theme. I shall enter this time, hopefully.

Final Entry

There we go. Shot, edited, and uploaded in one day. I have a busy couple of weeks! :scared:

I will be since I have too much time on my hands. I thought I would use a premium car and try my best with creating a livery, but I think I shall try my luck with a standard car. The premium would cover up its horrible livery more than a standard vehicle would.

I used to not know the first thing about editing, but a few years later, I'm starting to get the hang of it. It takes time, practice, and experimentation. If you like it, it gets easier to learn. Keep on learning, and you'll do great!

Thanks for the positivity. I have been editing a bit lately, but that has been for the other GT5 Photomode competitions. They surprisingly came out decent, but now livery...
