No offence to the 3 people that voted for A so far, but it would also make me think that they voted for it because either A) they like that car or B) they are good friends with the person that took the shot.

C) They like how the photographer has captured the car.

For me and what gets my vote often it's the how that makes the choice obvious or not. While I do not care for the colour or gloss, the captured angle of the LFA is somthing I can appreciate. The Z on the other hand I wish there was more of. It's a very good picture but for some reason I just wish there was more. All that said, I agree with Ru-fus, the Z fits the theme better and I sincerely hope that people can leave what car they do and don't like behind and choose the better picture.

ok yeah C) you have mentioned is another good reason why someone why vote on a shot, and would be something that would play into a judges choice decision or the voters choice no doubt, it many apply more so all depending on the theme of course. The LFA is a nice shot yeah, i like the angle of it myself.

Also as a general idea, again sorry for my lack of knowledge on the past competitions. But would it be good maybe possible for future competitions for the OP to state a few pointers on what he'll be looking for when choosing shots that make the poll or not?

I know the OP always states a further explanation of theme, but a few points on what the judge is looking for maybe also good....or would this just kill the possibility of people using their imagination/creativity?

That is a serious amount of work. Yeah, it would be more fair or whatever, but I really don't think it would ever change the outcome of one of these competitions.

thinking about this last night again, and I would be willing to run this comp as a once off special competition, yes I've also read and been looking at the competition rules, everything you need to know post, and if it's not something thats been done then it should be ok to go ahead with?

It's a deserving and fantastic shot! I was really disappointed when I voted and then saw that it only had four votes after I voted. I guess everyone was too busy voting for Moglet to open yours up and look at it. Oh well.

The votes that went to Aidan8500's shot are definitely worthy and are good, legit votes. That shot is fantastic as well. I just really liked the RalliArt Evo and the focal range it has and the way that aspect of the shot brings detail to the main subject.

Everything else is just ehh and mehh.

I voted for the bum of the Z poking out from behind cover. It fitted the theme perfectly IMO and the composition and balance of the image was spot on. As well as this, it was original and very unique. Excellent work 👍

The one Mog voted for is the one that gets my vote too; my personal reasoning is that it evokes a certain feeling compared to a lot of the others in the poll, something contemplative, and considering the theme, that's why it took my vote. Race cars were never going to have a chance, but again, like every other week, it's all about our personal preferences.

Ru-fus - That does seem like a hugely complicated procedure, especially because it doesn't really erase what you're concerned with - the possibilities of favouritism. If everyone who entered got to pick their personal poll options, who's to say they wouldn't vote for their friends instead of what's "worthy"?

Actually, considering it's the qualifier this week; the Competition largely does what you bring up . Nobody can add personal signatures, and everyone gets into the qualifier poll; then, we all get to cast as few or as many votes as we want to determine who makes it to the actual knock-out style tournament. So, in theory anyways, it should really represent which images we all overall think deserve to make the cut 👍

You could have kept that smartaleck comment to yourself, but hey, don't worry about it man, it's all good! I will do you all a favor and stay out of it from now on. But I must say, your competition is really getting boring and lackluster. I'm not saying it's your fault, but I have lost most of my interest in it. I will still be around to vote, but I'm not going to waste my time entering this anymore. It's just a shame with the amount of time that I bet you spend on it every week, with moderating and posting the polls and all, that it's not better than it is. But I guess that's what you get at a public forum for a video game.

I apologize for any offense I may have triggered or tempers I have enraged. Just posting my thoughts.

yeah it does, but hey thats me all over. i had the possibility of a new comp for it all drawn up for it today, but now that you mention that other new comp it does match the idea of mine to a certain degree, so saying thats running I don't think I need to bother with maybe running a new competition. I just hope with it tho that people will vote for the best shots that meet the theme. And If all the poll entries are unmarked and nobody knows how owns the shots other than there own i guess, then that would stop them voting for the friends to a certain degree, but sure its not hard for something to contact another member offline of GTP and ask them to vote for their pic and they will vote for there's in return...

but what can ya do other that enter the poll and hope you get a shed load of votes and win

I was torn between the blue Lancer and the R92CP, but went with the R92CP in the end for its sheer beauty in simplicity and composition. The R33 with the heavy tones looks very nice in full size as well, but the preview doesn't do it justice
