Really? I didn't expect to get through...

Looks like cross-processing wasn't the best idea, I'll admit. But hey, I was trying stuff out. Glad some people liked my TC's at Cape Ring!
 
Really excited to get through to round 1. cant wait to see what the themes are. two questions though...

how long do we have to shoot each theme? and
do we know who we're going up against?

so... that said... any feedback? im glad i got through but was a little disappointed i didnt get more votes...

i know i was the only one (i think) that used the miniature filter, but any advice will be appreciated going in to the first round lol :scared:

Using multiple of the same car is usually very bad, in this case it is because of the games default of only having only the same color of the car. I almost didn't vote for GT HP Nut because of the same issue but getting 4 cars in a diamond formation like is worth something.

The miniature filter isn't used in the right sense, IE: Nothing looks like a toy and all of the cars are clear instead of 1 central car with everything else blurred.

Moving into the head to head rounds is a different game. You've got a them that you have to hit and you're trying to out shoot 1 other person.

It's the round to try stuff, just have to hope to make it in. 👍

It was too dark and a looks a bit out of focus.
 
I'm actually happy with only 4 votes. Cross-processing isn't really great, but I thought "Hey, why not? Someone might like it." I know where the picture went wrong, but feedback if you want to.

thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. a strange turn of events created that scenario actually... i was in a fully tuned audi rs6 '08 painted blue and it put me up against 15 white gts... was very weird but i couldnt capture the contrast of this matchup as well as i'd have liked... still, very happy to be in the next round. now to work! lol

Cross-processing is awesome, It just takes a pile of exposure to make it look good. Probably 2/3s of my entries, and one of the comps I won were cross processing. The rules are just different as to what you have to do to use it.

This may have already been asked or answered so please forgive me if so but when do we find out who were against and will all rounds for the tournament require shots including two or more cars or was that just part of this weeks theme?

Every single head to head match is different, it could be anything from a wheel all the way up to a full field of cars racing.

I think the boards poll structure is updated. The first 2 PMT's if you clicked an image it would put a vote down and you would have to unclick it.

Work on playing with focus and lighting. It didn't have much feel to it.

Another thing is playing with car colors. I usually paint the car either metallic or flat to help with the way the light reflects or shines.

Just to add on: It's always going to be a crap shoot in the head to head rounds. The theme plays a big part. Sometimes it'll take 100 shots to get a great shot that gets some votes and other times it will be taking 8 shots to get a phenomenal shot that crushes your opponent.

Yeah, I guess the paint was too dark. The funny thing was that I couldn't zoom in any more because my car was so beat up. :p

Cool, thanks! And about the focusing, if you look at the most recent pmc thread I have a shot I took at about the same time as this one. (I hope that's not against any rules)
 
Earlier there was a post saying round one was "tonight GMT", should we expect tomorrow now because as far as I can tell it's almost 1am GMT.

Hey Iceman, if you check the results on page 7 of this thread you'll see a link by your name showing your rule violation. The whole point of the PM'ing of the entries and such was so that people don't vote for the person but for the photo. Anyways, the rule says you can't tell people which photo's yours and you did so you were DQ'ed.

hey sorry about that. it's my 1st tourny and iwas getting smoke by all the premium and NASCAR shots so i rallied to get some votes. i'll be the better man and take my loss without bitching about it. it won't happen next time. i'm sorry to everyone there were a lot of good pics in there. see you guys next time
