Further explaination of the theme from Nato_777.

"Step away from the vehicle! Over the past few weeks we have had a couple of close-up
themes in the Photo comps so this week I would like to see some shots taken from a bit farther
away. So this time I want the car to be in the distance somewhat and to be able to appreciate
some of the great scenery we have in GT5. Time to get your running shoes on (or rather walking
shoes as it is with Photomode).
Some (not great - but gives idea of distance) examples here, here, here and here."

Cars: Any and as many as you like.
Locations: Any.
Phototravel: Yes - if you can get far enough away from the car.
Unique Restrictions: "Must be at least one car in shot and must be taken from
a reasonable distance."

I saw some that were still heavily focusing on the car with the camera, even though they were far away, and I didn't think that those really suited the theme (in my opinion).
So, I went for one that wasn't doing that from what I could tell.

Wow, that was brutal choosing a top 15! 49 into 15 isn't easy. I did an inititial cut and was left with 35 entries I really would have liked to put in the poll. The top 9 where no brainers for me but the last 6!
All I can say is many of you missed by the skin of your teeth. In the end I just had to go with which ones appealed to me the most as on technical merit there was nothing in it.

It really only come down to the use of the partial filter which I'm not partial to, otherwise a well composed shot.

There is nothing bad about the shot, it was one of the last to be cut. In the end I had 24 entries that I really liked that had to go into the final 6 spots, so as I've said it was really brutal chopping it down. If the car had been on the left of shot it probably would have made it.

Voted for the first. I liked how it felt.

No not too many cars, I liked the fact of the multiple cars, in the end due to the number of great entries it was pathically insignificant details that swayed me - in this case it just somehow felt a little too static.

For me it just didn't quite match up to the ones that did make the poll. A little dark (for a daytime shot) perhaps. Don't give up though I do see an improvement in your more recent shots compared to your earlier ones.

Again really, really close. You nailed the theme, I was just put off slightly by the car being a little out of focus. In this particular shot (with the car to the foreground) I would've preferred the focus on the car instead of the mountains.

Sorry ZEROX - what can I say, a really great shot, I like it alot and it should have been in the poll but somehow I missed it out. Yesterday was a nightmare day computer-wise. The work computer crapped out, we had power cuts - in which I lost my word file with the poll entries ready to cut and paste into the poll, PhotoShop on my computer crapped out and really I struggled to get anything done. Any excuse is a poor excuse though and I do feel really bad about this one - I had intended to include it - again really sorry ZEROX.

I quite like your picture, it kinda looks like someone is speeding down the Autobahn (sp?). I think it suits being focused on the sign.

The car was a little too out of focus for me. Maybe if there was a greater sense of speed from the surrendings it might have worked.

Not too much sky as such, but too much overexposed sky - a symptom of the cross-processing filter.
