there are some great shots in here, im actually surprised that there weren't a ton of F40 shots

Some sleek imagery in this poll 👍 (tough choice) Good luck to all.

Nato has told me it's "a brave move on a PMC week" to enter a standard, but even though I know they render poorly and don't receive many votes, it's hard to resist some models. This was my entry, I love the little spider, simple classic lines! :)

Agreed! The old Alfa's are lovely. Here in Brisbane i see a couple of really nice ones every now and then, meticulously maintained and looking good as new! Very cool. Great poll, The orange California got my vote!

I disagree with that opinion. Standard vehicles can show great texture, if the photographer can use the right tactics to produce a fantastic picture. We've all seen dozens of standard vehicles win against premiums in the same poll.
But your photo is not showing much texture, it is not the car's fault for its detail, though. The entire scenery is bland with its tannish and orange look throughout, but the amount of blur in the background is at decency. With the car hardly in motion, it holds back a lot to a good photo. Try not to use any filters, you can get more out of a photo in that setting.

Feedback, CCS7?

So many Toscana and Siena shots

let me try...from seeing this shot, the first thing i saw was an empty track, and then off to a rather small F430...and the whole atmosphere is not particularly interesting (so thats why Toscana and Siena became favourites for this poll)

You do love cars to be BIG, don't you? :sly: (Plus my car isn't really small, either :p)

The track isn't actually empty at all, as Panning Mode 3 is used, the track is a little bit blurred, and the flashy red made the car become the main focus of the photo.

About the atmosphere, well... it's a subjective point :p

i do not disagree with your thoughts, but your shot should be trying to catch the reader at first sight, not the reader having to find the focus of your shot, and in your case, way off the line of sight.

i admit i like most of your small car shots, but this one has to be an exception

You were Mr Unlucky 13 sadly, I so wanted to get a standard in the poll but that reason alone wasn't enough :indiff:. I think any other filter or no filer would have increased the chance. I think the yellow/orange? (if thats what it is) would have 'popped' out against the background more + a bit more motion of the car in there as well maybe :)

I actually like the angle of this shot 👍 but 2 things spoilt it for me. 1 - the focal length seems low .. F4 or lower? which 'shrinks' the car like a toy and this could have been avoided if it was zoomed in more. Low F numbers work well with a bit of zoom or close up.
2 The right-half of the pic is all dead/empty space in comparison to the left
I hope this helps :)

Feedback?

The over-exposure is the factor here, esp that bleached out spot at the top merging with the roof and right wing of the car. As matt mentioned all these settings would've worked with a darker coloured car imo :sly:

Yeah, it was red.

I expected a lot of F40s but judging by the poll and previous comments it was a Maserati week. :D The black one got my vote. 👍

Any feedback for mine, Shafty?

That depends on where the viewer's eyes' focus were put upon the picture at first glimpse :sly:

Could I get some feedback on this please?:)

I would say had the F40 been in any other colour, it would look much better as this shot looked that the F40 blended in with the road, thus not significant.

I think a partial colour filter or no filter should work the best with this kind of shot.

TBH i like your idea behind the shot, but the extreme monochrome (i assume) filter turned the whole thing excessively dark.

On a side note, Enzo's and 512BB's does get little love...

👍 Absolutely, +1, see em here too in the Toronto area now that it's summer, envy !!!

So true. (I'll keep try'in)

& thanks guys for feedback,
this entry was just too hurried,
I like how the warm filter adds mood to the skyline at Toscana (should have included more sky in my shot but it compromised the "best" view of the alfa)
also, the car is at full speed, maybe should have changed the wheels to better show that but I really like the original old steelies (also used pan mode 1 with a fast shutter speed to compensate for blur) guess that's why it seems to "stand still".
Agree paint colour not the best choice but again time was my enemy. (ran out) The blue one here was my 1st inspiration, further iterations I'm sure would have delivered but... :p

The Spider in green looks better!

Any on mine?

^^Had that have been in the poll it would have been a toss up with that and the orange Cali! Colour is great!

I want to thank those who voted for my pic and congrats to the poll makers...that f40 looks amazing so it was a sure winner

Any feedback on mine? I know it's not the greatest, but I thought is was okay.

To me it looks a little too bright. Bumping the EV down a tad might help.

Both are great! Seriously.....👍
And both would've been in my poll! ;)

Love this!
Hence I faved it 👍

I see the same with DB on this shot, but i think the F value of your shot seems to be no more than 2.0, which made the back of the car blurry, and not helping with the shot at all.
