It's going to be a H2H close-up week!"

Cant believe i took that exact same shot of the Zonda R's roof but deleted it:crazy:

Didn't realize cooling intakes were allowed. Oh well, I can see what the judge was looking for and mine didn't quite fit anyway, so good luck to those who made it :)

@f1_stig
I love your image a lot and it was in my closer selection for a while. Compared to your rivals however it wasn't that close-up and unexpected. Unexpected though is the fine idea of parking a monoposto racecar in front of an anchient abbey wall.

@SVX:
This is a perfect close-up photo and I like the way you are directing the focus to most interesting details of your car. However, I don't see anything really unexpected like explained in the theme "Capture the typical organs for intake or exhaust in an unexpected manner."

@Aragam:
Beautiful photograph without any discussion.
Beautiful light and great car.
However I intended to see a "nose" – and you presented me a complete face.
Though your entry fits the theme it's simply not enough close-up compared to your rivalry.

Hope this helps…

Thanks Raph 👍

I don't mean to nitpick, but aren't the vents on the hood of the Aston just that; vents? Pretty sure that shot belongs in the other poll.

That's to say nothing of the other "intakes and exhaust" that have nothing to do with the engine breathing scattered throughout the poll.

I'm not trying to sound like a sore loser, because my shot wouldn't have made it anyway, I just find that for such a specific theme and such a specific set of characteristics that the judge was looking for, it seems a bit odd to see the theme ignored in some of the poll picks.

@nfdids:
Pretty good idea without question.
Imho the shot is a little bit boring due to the angle, the lighting and the missing contrast.
Maybe another location with different illumination would have made it…

@GT HP Nut:
Though your entry fits the theme it's simply not enough close-up compared to your rivalry.
Imho your dramatic action shot is a little bit out of place in this "still" theme.

Hopefully this may help…

Thanks Raphaele, will keep that in mind for next time. :)

Any Feedback??

I like the perspective and the car.
I feel where you are coming from, however your cam is too far away
from the point of interest – and the point of the theme, too.
You simply showed us a complete car… but this was not reqired.
Sorry, hopefully helpful.
c u during future comps!👍

hmmm... thanks! :D

A brilliant close-up shot indeed.

I like the lighting and the car as well :)
A front grill may be considered as an intake part, okay.
However due to the rivalry this was imho simply not enough…
I can't see the "ultimate inhaling organ".

Does this comment help you?

Well chaps I have to say with this being only my second week back taking pictures im happy with my votes so far thanks guys :)

Aww, i thought i have the chance....

Can i have my feedback? :D

Indeed, it was the wrong part but the perfect shot. :sly:

@ ZEROX:
A brilliant sample for a bw picture. You got it…
Well done, however in my opinion a little too much of the car body. And I had only 12 to select :(

@ijkhk4:
Yours didn't make it simply because I had only 12 to pick and yours was #13.
Showing a little to much of the car body in relation to the theme…and maybe for a BW picture a little more contrast might have been helpful for more dramaturgy… only my opinion definetely.

Feedback please...

Though it was enough "eyepopping" :indiff: and not boring as well.

And Ford GT photo is neither exhalation or inhalation, those reverse naca on hood are for air going out and the small intake below window is of course for "inhalation".
Aston Martin, well... "The carbon fiber louvers cut into the aluminum hood allow heated air in the engine compartment to escape, thereby lowering air pressure and lift brought on by high speeds."
So the poll is a little bit... you now :sly:

I see, so you really want a really close up shot! :p

Thanks for the comments 👍 I know what to do next time :)

@przemekszulim:

Your shot is absolute premium and poll-worthy.
Perspective and light fits well and in another comp it might have succeeded.
The only thing I have to say is:
just a "straight" shot and maybe a little too less of "unexpected manner" imho :(
