Further explaination of the theme from Nato_777.

"Step away from the vehicle! Over the past few weeks we have had a couple of close-up
themes in the Photo comps so this week I would like to see some shots taken from a bit farther
away. So this time I want the car to be in the distance somewhat and to be able to appreciate
some of the great scenery we have in GT5. Time to get your running shoes on (or rather walking
shoes as it is with Photomode). :)
Some (not great - but gives idea of distance) examples here, here, here and here."

Cars: Any and as many as you like.
Locations: Any.
Phototravel: Yes - if you can get far enough away from the car.
Unique Restrictions: "Must be at least one car in shot and must be taken from
a reasonable distance."

This Thread will answer many possible questions you may have.

  • Entries for the competition this week must be sent to the Judge Nato_777 Via
    Private Message and not posted in this thread, any pics posted in this thread will not be
    considered for the poll.
  • Your PM must consist of a preview image no bigger than 500px at the largest side with a
    direct link to the full size image.
  • Your first entry will be your last, you will not be allowed to change your entry so be happy
    with it.
  • One entry per user. It must be your own work, and never previously used in a competition.
  • Do not use a photo from your Gallery or post your photo shoot in your Gallery until after
    the competition (and poll if you made it) has closed.
  • Preview images can not exceed 500 pixels in either direction.
  • A preview image must be representative of the full-size image. Do not add effects to it.
  • Winner chooses the following week's theme and becomes Judge for that week.
  • Winners cannot enter in their own theme!
  • The Judge will select their favourite 10 entries and PM to the Host for the poll.
  • The poll entries will then all be hosted by me so that links cannot be traced to the owner
    of the photo.
  • The Host may ask for the original image and it must be submitted if so.
    It's recommended to save the original image (preferably in-game) until week's ends.
  • It is recommended you host your image on ImageShack, Photobucket, or Flickr.

  • No post-GT5 editing, besides proportionally resize and rotate, is allowed.

Is the focus of this weeks comp more on scenery or just not being close to the car? Im just asking because i have an almost given poll worthy entry of a car and lots of scenery but im not sure if the cars perhaps too close and i dont want to enter the photo and find its not fitting to the theme.

A bit of both really, main thing is being away from the car which lends itself to using the scenery in the shot. :)
If by chance anyone submits an entry that does not imo fit the theme I'll let them know and allow a resubmit.

and I must say , the miniature filter fits very good on the CItroen GT example 👍

Hmm ok thanks, its not the re submit im worried about its not being able to use the first submitted picture again:indiff:

No worries, I'm premium so have a 2000 PM limit - keep 'em coming. As for my judging capabilities - well that's another matter. :lol:

Edit: Just as a guideline;- the car(s) should take up less than 1/4 of the frame - preferably much less. ;)
