Further explaination of the theme by youtimestwo.

"Dramatic results can be captured at dawn or dusk (sunrise/sunset) like my sailboat shot so
take a non-race/rally car (no numbers or sponsors) to a time-change track/location and
capture an image with "long shadows".

Cars: Any Road and Tuner.
Locations: Any with a time change.
Phototravel: Yes - Red Bull Hangar and San Galgano Abbey Only (have a sunset).
Unique Restrictions: Early morning or late afternoon hours only, no racecars or
car graphics.

Please, ensure you read and understand all requirements for this competition. Failure to follow
the rules may result in disqualification. If you have questions, send me a Private Message.

This Thread will answer many possible questions you may have.

  • Entries for the competition this week must be sent to the Judge youtimestwo Via
Private Message and not posted in this thread, any pics posted in this thread will not be
    considered for the poll.
  • Your PM must consist of a preview image no bigger than 500px at the largest side with a
direct link to the full size image.
  • Your first entry will be your last, you will not be allowed to change your entry so be happy
    with it.
  • One entry per user. It must be your own work, and never previously used in a competition.
  • Do not use a photo from your Gallery or post your photo shoot in your Gallery until after
the competition (and poll if you made it) has closed.
  • Preview images can not exceed 500 pixels in either direction.
  • A preview image must be representative of the full-size image. Do not add effects to it.
  • Winner chooses the following week's theme and becomes Judge for that week.
  • Winners cannot enter in their own theme!
  • The Judge will select their favourite 10 entries and PM to the Host for the poll.
  • The poll entries will then all be hosted by me so that links cannot be traced to the owner
    of the photo.
  • The Host may ask for the original image and it must be submitted if so.
It's recommended to save the original image (preferably in-game) until week's ends.
  • It is recommended you host your image on ImageShack, Photobucket, or Flickr.
SSC_Editing-2.jpg

  • No post-GT5 editing, besides proportionally resize and rotate, is allowed.

You better empty your inbox youtimestwo 'cause this week will probably see the most entries for a SSC ever :D

"YIKES", I think I've released the hounds!

But seriously, just in case anyone needs inspiration, this theme is similar in essence to week 007 - 2.0 Advanced Competiton "Sunrises and Sunsets" won by Moglet. Go to page 21 and check out the thread and poll for hints and ideas. (good information ;))

Have fun with this and show me what great images can be achieved without editing! :D

So are we looking for the shadows or just to be at the proper time?

Time is the important factor, the long shadows quote is more an expression for early or late in the day. ;)

Youtimestwo, the Red Bull Hangar is not the only photo travel location with a time change. San Galgano Abbey is the other location with this feature.

True, true - I'll fix that.

EDIT: Actually I'll check with youtimestwo if he wants to include it.... and now I've fixed it. San Galgano Abbey included.

:/

i have this week a bit more freetime and i would like to take part in every competition this week :)

 by no car graphics I believe Ux2 is meaning no liveries. ;)

Just by chance I happened to have a really good one from earlier. I'll get it up soon.

Yes, thanks Nato and to further clarify the "Unique Restrictions" I want cars that were built for the road not the track, tuners accepted but I don't want to see numbers or alot of sponsorship/advert decals on the paint. So Amuse, Spoon even the HPA will work but Blitz or AEM no, if in doubt just ask or PM.

I should add that the sun on the horizon certainly does cast long shadows which creates some of that "low light" drama in photography. ;)

Entry Sent. Once again... crap. However, I wont be playing GT5 again this week so it'll have to do...

Check here.

Took some totally awesome shots for this last night...with my Raybrig NSX... :banghead:

does it need to have a car in it?

Yes. But be aware of the restrictions. :sly:

I assume your head banging is because you realized that this is a secret identity competition and giving away what car your using would compromise your entry.

f1_stig
i think it is because the car has graphics

This. :O I was so amazed with myself that I totally forgot about the no livery restrictions. I'll just have to recreate the shots with another car. :)
