Further explanation of the theme, provided by Gtuned:

"Autumn is a great time for pictures eh? Too bad it only lasts for a week here in NY, so let's enjoy the Fall's ever lasting perfection the best way in GT5, At Autumn Ring. But, more the merrier, so let's have multiple cars. Now before you all start groaning at me again there's an easy way for a nice multiple car field. Go to arcade mode, single race and whatnot, and select arcade only cars. You can get a very nice field of all premium cars this way, depending on what you pick.
TL: DR? Go to arcade mode and race at Autumn ring with some premium cars."


CARS: Any Arcade Only cars (in Arcade Mode only, natch!)
LOCATIONS: Autumn Ring, of course!
PHOTOTRAVEL: ...c'mon now
UNIQUE RESTRICTIONS: Must be a multi-car shot!

This Thread will answer many possible questions you may have.

  • It is recommended you host your image on ImageShack, Photobucket, or Flickr.
  • Not sure how to post a thumbnail or preview image? Read this sticky!
  • Please use a clickable-preview to full-size, not a separate text link for it;
    it makes poll creation much easier!

  • No post-GT5 editing, besides proportionally resize and rotate, is allowed.
    [*]One entry per user. It must be your own work, and never previously used in a comp.
    [*]Do not ask other users to choose your entry.
    [*]Mark your FINAL ENTRY clearly, with red text. On H2H weeks, which side, as well.
    [*]You may change your entry once. Do it clearly; edit out your previous entry, and
    either post the new one in a new reply, or in place of the original.
    [*]When submitting, use either a thumbnail or a preview image, linked to the full-sizer.
    [*]Preview images can not exceed 500 pixels in either direction.
    [*]A preview image must be representative of the full-size image. Do not add effects to it.
    [*]Do not post "Honourable Mentions" or outtakes - just your Final Entry, that's all.
    [*]Winner gets to choose the following week's theme, as well as the Top 25. Every fourth
    week, the poll will be H2H style: entries must choose a "team", leading to two 12-picture,
    4-day polls. The winners from each faces off in a final 48 hour poll.
    [*]Winners cannot enter in their own theme!
    [*]The Host may ask for the original image and it must be submitted if so.
    It's recommended to save the original image (preferably in-game) until week's ends.
Failure to follow these rules will result in ignored entries and/or disqualification!

I got a great shot of a standard car and a premium car (the standard car looks awesome, BTW)....come here....and it's arcade only cars. . . .

'DA HELL. . . was looking forard to returning to the photo comps, with my 1,000th post. . .with a good shot. . .

basic anger at 11:45pm for spending a couple of hours misinterpreting the rules, essentially. thn I just started lawling at my lack of reading comprehension (hence the reference to the AC/DC track)

I'll edit in a shot later. it's not as if I'll even be competetive. in GT4 I was pretty good with non edited/lightly edited stuff, but GT5s low angle free roam camera has never been something I've got the hang of, at all. plus, the good ideas I have are not possible (for instance, for this comp, I wanted a shot of the caterham 7's dash mirror with the reflection of the entire field behind the car and and open track infront of it , but mirror reflections are not rendered in any kind of detail in replay mode, and I understand why). Now what I wanted was not allowed, but with the "arcade only" cars being a bunch of vehicles I dislike the general look of, it's difficult to take a photo that's worth anything.
I just got back into GT5 yesterday after a year and a half of not playing it. it's practicaly all new again.

take your shot, for instance. a quality piece of work, but I never would've gone that route because I can never get it to work out. it comes out looking unbalanced or poorly composed.

note: I still think this is a VERY good category chosen by the judge, and I'll still try it. it is HIS category, and just because I have issues getting a good shot doesn't mean I'm allowed to piss and moan too much.

And Gtuned has made a nice Youtube vid that explains the GT5 photomode quite nice. I just dont know where to find it again. Or was it only a live-stream back then? But if you have any questions, I'm sure there are enough helpful guys here. :)

I'ld say it's extreme monochrone filter plus high EV setting - the only problem is that you can't tell if it is the Autumn Ring or not and of course doesn't have an Autumn feel - I don't know how important that is to the judge this week. ;)
