Further explanation of the theme, provided by slzk:

"Take a photo inside any tunnel in any track with one in GT5.
The aim here isn't actually to make tunnel vision, but to make
the car look best with the surroundings/lighting given.
So, get creative!"

CARS: Any
LOCATIONS: Inside tunnels
PHOTOTRAVEL: No
UNIQUE RESTRICTIONS: Must be fully inside, no half-in/half-out pics!

Please, ensure you read and understand all requirements for this competition. Failure to follow
the rules may result in disqualification. If you have questions, send me a Private Message.
This Thread will answer many possible questions you may have.

  • It is recommended you host your image on ImageShack, Photobucket, or Flickr.
  • Not sure how to post a thumbnail or preview image? Read this sticky!
  • Please use a clickable-preview to full-size, not a separate text link for it;
it makes poll creation much easier!

  • No post-GT5 editing, besides proportionally resize and rotate, is allowed.
[*]One entry per user. It must be your own work, and never previously used in a comp.
[*]Do not ask other users to choose your entry.
[*]Mark your FINAL ENTRY clearly, with red text. On H2H weeks, which side, as well.
[*]You may change your entry once. Do it clearly; edit out your previous entry, and
either post the new one in a new reply, or in place of the original.
[*]When submitting, use either a thumbnail or a preview image, linked to the full-sizer.
[*]Preview images can not exceed 500 pixels in either direction.
[*]A preview image must be representative of the full-size image. Do not add effects to it.
[*]Do not post "Honourable Mentions" or outtakes - just your Final Entry, that's all.
[*]Winner gets to choose the following week's theme, as well as the Top 25. Every fourth
week, the poll will be H2H style: entries must choose a "team", leading to two 12-picture,
4-day polls. The winners from each faces off in a final 48 hour poll.
[*]Winners cannot enter in their own theme!
[*]The Host may ask for the original image and it must be submitted if so.
It's recommended to save the original image (preferably in-game) until week's ends.
Failure to follow these rules will result in ignored entries and/or disqualification!

Woops, fixed! 2.0 will be up in a few hours, folks!

Let's see... High Speed Ring, Trial Mountain, Grand Valley Speedway, Deep Forest Raceway, Special Stage Routes (5/7/X), Cote d'Azur (Monaco), Eiger Nordwand (K Trail and Short Track) - those are the ones with tunnels...? (not including bridge underpasses)

Great theme, gonna look forward to this. *goes diggin' in the hard drive for something to enter* :P

FINAL ENTRY

Grand Valley Speedway by OtakuTaikun, on Flickr

Was wondering when i could use this pic :)

(if anyone's gonna ask, it's the grand valley tunnel before the chicane at the end. There's large openings in it...i know it's not too obvious in the pic, its the beginning of the week so if asked i can easily change)

Heh, I did manage to find something to enter.

F I N A L / E N T R Y

Dem reflections.

Please click for the lightbox.

But I think I'll change this for something with a car that a bit less...

"Hey, it's Grandpa driving around Monaco in mah good 'ol fugly Pug cabriolet"
. :P

Nice one, Fishy!

Also, kudos for using such an underused car. I've even forgotten it existed in the game.

This will be changing...
I wouldn't change it this is awesome!
Im a bit miffed that its not 'tunnel vision' to be shown as i have the perfect shot but should be interesting.

I've got 2 tunnel shots that make this look like a coloring book shot. I've been saving them for the PMT's though. 1 Just may get broken out.

How far in the tunnel do you need to be?

Can you take a picture that is near the exit or entrance?
Or does it need to be deep into the tunnel?

If you need more specifics, I am looking at my photo and it is near the exit of the pit lane/ tunnel of SSRX. It only shows the areas that are lit up blue normally, then the exit. It does show a bit of the roof of the tunnel though.

Is this considered to still be in a tunnel?

I am having a problem that I have been ignoring but because of this competition I can't do it anymore. I cant change the exposure of the photo which would be very useful for a tunnel picture. Has anyone been able to work around this?

The exposure only brightens when there is light to work with. A dark shot can not be brightened anymore. You need a better angle or a better light source.

Thanks for the quick response. I seem to remember it used to be different, but I guess not. It is terrible because I have a really nice photo but it is too dark. I may end up submitting it anyways but we will see.
