Well seems people think it's a collecting cars that have never been driven and looking at them game! Look at me, look how many cars I have!!

Yes I pay $60 to just look at the cars...
I'd probably pay $120 if they added more Skylines and Miatas and got rid of all the other junk cluttering the garage and dealerships

I'll properly get grief for this but I did use the search and nothing!!!

So I've noticed a lot of people only want 0 miles cars when trading. Why does everyone worry about this? It's a racing game, you get cars and RACE them!! If pd said they are going to release gt6 but there are no races, you just buy cars and look at them, would you all buy it!?!
The point of them having 0 mile cars is to put them in their collection and admire their rare 0 mile cars. Another reason could be because people want to know how many miles they put on their car, without any hassle.

Maybe it's just me, i don't see the point of either of those reasons! I'm not saying I'm right and they're wrong, I was just wondering if there was a logical reason! Seems it's just personal preference and another part of the game. Just seemed a lot of people asking for 0 miles! Good luck to you all :-)

Those are 2 examples of why people might want 0 mile cars.

Because just collecting all the cars in the game has been done by many people want something else to collect and have a reason to still play.

I lol'd. I have lot's of cars that haven't been run but those cars I have no interest in driving or trading and no one else would be interested in acquiring from me.

Cars without miles have more value in the real world, so some people find virtual cars that have never been driven to be valuable too, and it's really stupid, you buy them to race them, not to stare at it.
High miles don't matter in racing games. They never break down. But everyone has their own opinions, and I respect that. But I still hate when people think 0 switches makes a car valuable, they either have OCD or are just stupid. 0 switches shouldn't matter at all.

I agree with it being a pointless, but it does save you credits on engine and chassis rebuilds, especially on expensive cars.

As for keeping them at 0 miles, that is quite silly.

I trade a bit, so if I do acquire a 0 mile car I will keep it that way for a while because of its value in the market. Obviously most 0 mile cars are out there due to ticket exploits. Since it is easy to trade and dupe tickets, it is an alternative to grinding to build a car collection.

I'm not a pure collector, so I eventually drive all my cars. The credits saved on engine and chassis rebuilds, as grog mentioned, is is not trivial.

In GT it does actually. Believe it's at 15 000 kms even fresh oil, engine
and chassis rebuilds won't bring it back to full PP.

0 switches are usually for people that want to make sure no irreversible changes have been made like engine tuning or rigidity.

By break down I meant no longer being able to work.

I collect 0 mile cars so when a car comes up in the market that I really want, I got more cars to offer. I used to complain about it too but have just conformed and started collecting too. I have 2 accounts now. A trade account just for trading and my primary account which I actually play the game.

I do not have as much time to play the game anymore so trading has become what I do the most with GT5. Its 10mins a day that I can turn on GT5 and do something in the game.

i prefer to trade a 0 mile/ 0 switch car for the following reasons.

1. you know its stock
2. a 0 mile car + oil change has a Higher BHP then a car with 1 mile and an oil change.
3. After a certain amount of miles the car loses power, even after a Engine rebuild it still cant reach its max BHP

these are a few reasons i want 0 mile/0 switch cars. i wish the Standard cars can be bought new. it sucks they all have miles on them.

a car with 1 mile on it has lower BHP than one with 0.. is that true? name a car you have with 0 miles and I will tell you what mine reads (from the screen with the rotating car)

I don't think there's much difference.

Well not all of them...I see the Veyron quite often in my UCD and always with 0 miles. That is the only one I've seen and I cant recall whether the Veyron that I won had the same bhp or pp as the ones I see for sale!

The Veyron is literally the only car I've ever heard this happen with.

It should have much more if you've oil changed it..

It depends on if you win it also though, cars obtained from tickets won from the events actually have the break-in period that premiums do, thus making them have less BHP than one with 300km on it.

That!
But the question is ... Will the car which started with 0 km will have more power than the car which you obtained with 300 km ... after you drive it for 300 km? ;)

P.S.:TBH I found this part of the game both unclear and stupid, even unnecessasry and quite amuzing just from curiosity. :dopey: Well I suppose I had too much GT5 lately.

it would help if someone with a 0/0 car would post their hp readout so I can compare it

Edit: Wait why would it matter how much horsepower a 0/0 car has anyways? If it's going to remain 0/0 you can't get in it to oil change it...... so chances are this is just a collecting thing

Where did you pull that info out?
You cant change oil on 0km car or 1km car
car reaches maximum hp after oil change around 300km

go buy 2 of the same cars.

1st car do an oil change at 0 miles

2nd car do a few laps at any track then do oil change

Car one will start with more BHP. i have tested lot of cars.

Also i have a few Supra RZ .the one that i had at 0 miles and oil change it now has 700 miles and has more BHP then my Old Supra RZ that has over 35000 miles. even after a Engine rebuild and break in it still has less then my 0 mile+ oil change+break in Supra RZ.

I still wont believe this until I see it... can you actually state the horsepower of a car you own that's 0/0 so I can compare it?

Also, cars with 10000+km seem to lose 1 hp, and then continue to lose horsepower, so of course the 35,000 mile car is going to have less horsepower.
