Closest finish ever!

i doubt that was a 0.000 finish. it looks about the same space gap as my race but at what... 100kmph max?

It was 0.000. That photo's not them crossing the line (which I believe is the white line rather than the bricks) and the red kart had slipstreamed me up the straight, he was going marginally faster.

Usualy on wednesday we do a top gearish challenge but last month my friends wanted to see the rally challenge in GT5. With only the advance rally left to compete i had to grab a good car considering my friends as "below average" at gt. I took the gifted and overuse citroen rally car to enter the rally. I did stage 1, 2, 7, 8. 2 of my friends did 2 stages each and overall result was 2nd:grumpy: at 0.001 ... :ouch:

8 stage, 3 ppl, 0.001 gap but 2nd ><
 
well its 2am in my neck of the woods so im off to bed guys.

i just finished an online race where i lost an all german race in my C63 to a Beetle RSi who crossed the line backwards on Deep Forest Raceway... will definitely return with a story/pics tomorrow
 
Not a race exactly but I was doing the slolom challenge in the I-B license and ended up with finishing time of 18.497. The Goal was 18.5 seconds. That was last gold to get for license tests.

My best IA-1 time is 14.001.... gold time is 14.000. You've no idea how frustrating it is trying to top that :scared:
 
Love close finishes.
My best was in NASCAR: top three times = 0.000, 0.000, 0.019 [I'm the middle one with no damage:sly:]

I wish they had a photo-finish option for longer races!

 
I've actually come back from last place to exactly tie the leader at the Daytona Speedway :sly: But it gave me 2nd place with +.000 It was great, I thought I had the draft advantage, but not quite enough, hehe.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the finish line recorded when your back tire crosses, not the nose of your car?
 
I had a 0.000 finish once also but sadly lost. Saved the replay but how on earth do you pause it so close to the finish line for the photo?! I can get it paused close but not as close as your pictures. Plus I have to wait six minutes between each chance to pause :grumpy:

my closest is far from you but it was an extremely fun race.

Both witch the Calsonic Impul GT-R 08' in Daytona road course, it was 0.034

i am not actually sure but i dont plan on sitting there for 20 laps of monza replays to try and find out
 
My closest was 0.001 while racing with a friend on a custom track with BMW M3 GTR Race Car...and I won:dopey:
 
My closest was .013 which seems like a lifetime in this thread but was close enough for me :)

The Indy oval race of the Dreamcars Championship. In my Nismo Xanavi Z I had been fighting off a Zonda LM, a Ford GT LM, a Ford GT40 and a Citroen GT for all ten laps of the race with slipstreaming (and my mistakes) ensuring multiple lead changes on every lap. I remember taking the perfect line out of the last turn and the Zonda and the Ford GT LM who were much faster in a straight line (my Z was stock with stock gearing) caught up with me and we went three abreast over the line with me in the middle. Awesome!
 
Mine was the america championchip at indy i was in a nascar and the other car in a chapperel. (the one that hugs the ground) It was 0.01.

Ahh that was a great race, very first... now 4 seasons into that :D

And in my NASCAR Truck Series at SSRX was placed 2nd as I lost by 0.000 seconds.......
 
I once lost by 0.001 seconds in an Indy FGT race. Not sure if that counts since very close finishes occur more in oval racing.

It happened to me 2 times in the same day about 6 months ago... and it never happens again lol
