Should Jordan Re-Open the "How Many Replies Can We Get" thread?

Wow...it got locked? When did that happen?

But I agree with Jordan's decision. The thread had outlived its purpose by more than a hundred thousand posts. It was one thing when GTP was relatively small, but more recently it was just plain out of hand. I do think it should be archived; it's too unique to throw away.

On the upside, GTPlanet should start loading faster now that half of its bandwidth isn't being eaten by one thread. :D

Too bad about the chat - I never even got to try it! Thanks a lot, whoever got it canned. :grumpy:
 
Now that we have that out of the way...

How 'bout we find a way to keep the thread archived(locked & viewable, but not recycled/deleted), but the posts within not count...:confused:

Jordan could create a separate "achives" forums and move the how many... to it, and make all posts in that thread not count.
 
Its a damn shame to see that thread go down the toilet like it has for the past several months. I remember the old days with me, Tatinee, Josh, etc chatting. Damn those bastard whores. :rolleyes:
 
Yeah, it was pretty great half a year ago.. I miss the old days of hmrcwg, but oh well. THe past is the past and it cant be altered.
 
I remember when I was new to GTPlanet I decided to post 10 posts so I could have a custom Avatar I was like 10 posts away............so I posted 10 usuless posts like this in HMRCWG:

Anyway the point is closing the thread maybe a good idea for the forum to move on but GTPlanet was getting recognition for such a huge thread. Beyond all that all the HMRCWG thread was from what I can see was a chatting/spamming thread.................you see people joining the forum like in July 02 and they have like 1000+ posts that is crazy!

I reackon archiving the thread and return to making post counts be earned by actual constructive posts to the community not like my spammage material..........
 
All I have to say is that at one time the thread had a purpose. For the long time members they know what I'm talking about, but for the newer members you just see it as spam. It did turn into spam but thats what you "THE MEMBERS" turned it into.

Spamming will always be here and every forum so maybe we should just revisit what is said at the bottom of the page.

Are you getting ready to post a degrading, harsh, or downright stupid comment or SPAM?
Think before you speak! GTPlanet is only as good as you make it.​
 
If HMRCWG is deleted, MistaX will have about 3000 posts, Josh 4000, and lots of other members will have much lower post counts.:lol: :lol:

You can't even begin to realize how happy that would make some of us...if our post counts were to just suddenly drop 4-6,000 posts...:drool::thumbsup:

I knew that something was probably fishy there, but we got it straightened out. I'm going to look around at the different types of chat rooms so I can take my time and do it right next time. It could come back, and it could not, I'm just going to think about it and research it some more.

not to be rude or anything but maybe u should keep that to your self as that is why it is called a "PM" but hopefuly u are right and we to get a chat room set up :)
 
yeah it should've been closed. It shouldnt' be deleted though... the posts should still count..

I came here because of GT2.. i stayed because of everthing else.. i spent nights in the HMRCWG actially having convos, not random meaninless stuff.
